I told everyone I was going to see Betty Wright...puzzled faces because everyone knows the songs but not necessarily the name of the artist. I have to say that this was one of the best concerts I have been to see. Betty was absolutely fantastic. She just took that stage and like a firework just lit up. She spoke with her audience and really engaged us. If Sunday night had not been sold out I would have been there!
I would definitely recommend this event to a friend.

Betty Wright was brilliant,hearing a lot of those songs brought back good memories of my clubbing days. The backing singers and the band were also great.

She still has the six-octave vocal range voice, and the show, albeit a little brief, was good without blowing your socks off, even though the sound system wasn’t the best I’ve heard.
3 out of 5 stars from me.

This was my first time seeing her and I was not disappointed! Her voice is amazing and stage presence was awesome. She is an entertainer and I enjoyed it all especially the encore

I was hoping to hear mainly hits but the first three songs I hadn't heard before and didn't find particularly impressive, added to the fact that the volume was turned up to 11 and was way too loud. She then started singing more familiar songs but then decided to do a James Brown revue which though it sounded fine, wasn't needed with her own back catalogue being so strong.
The show was good in parts but overall, a little disappointing.

Amazing to see one of my most favourite artists in the whole world! However was a little disappointed that she did not sing more of her songs from 4u2njoy album. Some of the songs that she did sing were dragged on for a little too long. Definitely wanted some more of the sing alongs. SO many amazing songs she could choose from. That aside...it was an amazing experience and I would do it all over again and again! Left the concert glowing!

Whilst I have a few old BW albums and the recent CD with the Roots, I didnt know what to expect from her.

All I can say is she blew me away and this gig has to be in my favourites of all time. She can sing, funk, soul, blues, gospel and even rap a little. Her enthusiasm and desire to entertain and please the crowd would be hard to match by many of todays younger stars.

I have recommended her to everyone I know and think I am now boring them!

What can I say, Betty Wright a living legend!!! I will never forget this night, she really knows how to work her audience and when she broke out into "tonight is the night" the crowd went wild. I'm sure this women is in her sixties yet she moved around like a 25 year old and she looks amazing about 40. Yes, great gig and loved her purple sequin top she looked perfect.

From the minute the sista strutted her stuff on the stage you knew you were in for a special evening.

Betty Wright is a seasoned performer and it showed. She had the audience in the palm of her hand and entertained way over and about what was expected of her.

Nights like this come few and far between but when they do they are worth waiting for

The only slight drawback is that she sang some cover versions which did not leave her time to sing more of her classic tracks. But that did not spoil the evening in any way.

A definite 12 out of 10 performance

A wonderfully life-affirming set from the sublime Betty Wright including many of her classics including Shoorah-Shoorah, Clean-up Woman, Tonight Is The Night, etc. as well as new songs from the fantastic new CD. And marvellous to see her in the perfect, intimate setting of The Jazz Cafe. She's as good as it gets.
