I was expecting to be watching Winger in the much larger Rock City venue but ticket sales must have been very poor because the show was moved next door to the tiny Rescue Rooms. What a crime that a band as talented as Winger can’t sell tickets.
It made for a better more personal show for those who were in the know about this band. We were treated to the very, very best in melodic AOR by a band who are as tight as it gets. The subtle changes in time signatures, key changes galore and pure musicianship was extraordinary. Kip Winger has an outstanding voice, the sound was top notch and the performance faultless. They even managed to put humour into some of the technical problems which were occurring the best notable of which was when guitarist Reb Beach in the middle of his solo spot lost all sound from his amp. This guy is a seriously world class player and he plays with sheer joy and abandon.
They played all the classics off the first 2 albums and some stuff off the new Karma album. I knew them all and was singing with rest of the crowd and having almost as much fun as the 4 guys on the stage. They obviously enjoy playing to live crowds, especially Reb Beach. Well done guys.

Favourite moment: Reb Beach shouting expletives when he lost sound during his guitar solo. @
Opening act(s): Airrace - Support band Airrace were excellent. Cracking singer, good old style 80s rock tunes and a faultless execution of same. Great. 7/10 @
