This was a very special gig for me for two reasons: I've been a fan for many years but have never seen them live. And, I took my five year old son to see them.

Now, I know that sounds young, and it is, but he loves them almost as much as me and I thought if they take as long between gigs as they did this time, then well, they might not make it back full-stop. So I risked potential bad-parenting and maybe having to leave early to give him the experience.

I needn't have worried. TP&TH gave such a fantastic performance the two hours plus flew by. Every song was greeted with enthusiasm and passion by this loyal band of fans. I have no doubt every single person experienced one of the best gigs of their lives. The guest appearance by Steve Winwood was an excellent bonus. I was a little worried it would mean we got less TP songs but we were treated to the full set plus the Can't Find My Way Home and Gimme Some Lovin.

Who could ask for more? Well I could, but I would be greedy. Yes there were lots of songs I'd love him to have played that night that weren't but to be truly satisfied would have taken four hours.

Please don't leave it so long until next time. We love you here. Well those who know you do!

My first visit to the Royal Albert Hall was phenomenal! The Acoustics are second to none, by far the best venue I've been to in 35 years of gigging.
The last time I had the chance to see Tom Petty was in 1992 and finances wouldn't allow it. I did not expect to wait 20 years to get another shot at it, but boy, was it worth it!!!
Tom played a fine mix of Classic and more recent tunes, paying great homage to the Damn the Torpedoes Album which is one of my Faves.
All the Classics were there from the seminal Full Moon Fever Album we all know and love and was really well received by the impressively knowledgeable crowd who added to the completeness of the Entertainment.
If you ever get a chance to see him, DO NOT Pass it up!!!

What can i say. 13 years since Tom and the Heartbreakers played these shores and they didnt let us down. 2 hours of showmanship and outstanding music. All my favourite tracks were played to perfection and sounded as fresh as the day they were first released. Special props to Mike Cambell whos been Toms guitar slinger and right hand man since day one. Got to be one of the most underrated players in rock!! Too many great songs to mention but Mary Janes Last Dance and Runnin Down A Dream have to get a stand out nod. Songs from Mojo also fit perfectly in with the old classics too. Lets just hope its not another 13 year wait for Tom and the boys to show everyone what a rock shows all about!!

Tom Petty has a fabulous back catalogue. So many great songs to work with. Then add the fact that Tom Petty's voice has lost none of its character or quality and that the Heartbreakers' playing was brilliant, and you have the perfect mix. Normally after a couple of hours of any gig I'm just about ready to go but in this case I could have happily listened to another couple of hours.
Why does Tom only come to the UK so rarely? Hopefully the tremendous reception ne got on this occasion will encourage him to come back much sooner.

Tom & band was in exceptional form as always one of the best performances I have seen of them ,never missed a note or beat , singing was perfect ,and Tom is 61 years old ? wow ! the opening band Johnathon Wilson were incredible best band I have heard for years all very talented, sound from guitars was stunning , I am a "connisour of great guitar players , Page ,Gillmour, ect these guys were as good as any , all credit to them and to Tom for introducing them to the UK having said that their cd lacked the same power and drive they showed on stage which is perhaps understandable ,all in all a great show well done to all !!!

I have waited patiently for years to see the band live, and was considering having to travel to the US to see them, so was delighted when they booked the RA hall, boy was it worth the wait, complete magic by the finest musicians on the planet ! . I Wont' Back Down and Running Down a Dream were worth the admission alone. Still on a high days later. Superb.

Felet like a party even before it started such was the anticipation of seeing Tom back in the UK. The set was phenomenal and Steve Winwood popped up as a surprise guest.

So glad I could see Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers after last seeing them 25 years ago with Bob Dylan. My seat was almost in the roof, felt far too high and wish I was down in the stalls, my bad luck was the idiot who sat next to me had to shout "Rock on baby" in between every song. He shouted so loud at times could not hear what Tom Petty was saying, peace came with his visits to the bar. Thankfully when the wonderful Steve Winwood came on stage my neighbour was in the bar and I could enjoy that bit without his arm movements and shouts.
Would love to see Tom Petty again and despite seat and neighbour was a great concert

I first saw TP & H on their 1977 UK tour and was blown away. To see them again after 35 years was just amazing. This was an unforgettable gig for all the right reasons. Not to be missed.

A masterful performance by a truly legendary group. Great to see them back, finally after so many years away from these shores. I feel sorry for the disappointed fans who couldn't get tickets or travel down for these shows. Steve Winwood coming out for a guest slot was a major bonus too.

With such a long career and so much material it was inevitable some folks' favourites wouldn't get played but I think he did a great job of covering the spectrum.

Carbon copy of night one really with the exception of being joined by Steve Winwood on Steves Blind Faiths Can't Find My Way Home and Spencer Davis Groups Gimme Some Lovin.Another wonderful show.
The lighting show was amazing especially with the Royal Albert Halls organ as a backdrop.
