I was so looking forward to this gig....but ended up leaving after 4 songs.

The wait for the band was too long and when they started I can only think there was something wrong with the acoustics. Too loud/ indistinguishable music/ hard on the ears.

We left early but were by no means the first out.

My daughter wasn't that fussed about going but kept an open mind - she was hard my heels at the exit.

I first saw New Order at least 25 yrs ago at The Tower in Hull, the O2 Academy in Glasgow being an old theatre/cinema reminded me of a similar venue. Hubbie & I were on the balony seated with a great view and as the tunes flooded back so did our memories, was a great set the lighting & the music fresh as ever if not better - a superb gig showing they can still belt out a great tune. they finished off with classic Joy Division making it a perfect end to a great concert and Hooky was sadly not missed at all, same they can't heal the rift though!

Openeng acts were great with some fantastic DJ`ing.Support group were good as well.
New Order themselves were fantastic.Sure you miss Hooky but Tom Chapman did great without trying to emulate hookys moves as well.Great,would love to see them again.

Unfortunately due to sound problems on stage the opening songs were very muffled and hard to hear, Bernard realised this and after some "discussions" with stage personnel eventually the sound came right for the remainder of the set. As the set progreesed they got better and was leading us to hopefully some Joy Division tracks, however as was there Gig in Birmingham in the early eighties(left stage after 20 mins!!!) they decided that was it!!! no Joy Division Encore-checked other set lists and at least 2 JD songs were sung.
Reason-Bernard wasn't happy with the sound, at least I could have been the judge of that as that was the main reason of attending!!!
Overall -sound problemsto a side-Really energetic performance of classic New Order Tracks but disapointed with no JD

We were really looking forward to this but sadly came away underwhelmed. It seemed that the levels were all wrong as you could barely hear the vocals and although Sumner seemed to be trying hard, it came across as a lacklustre performance. It was telling that the best part of the evening were the Joy Division songs at the end and we missed Peter Hook on bass.

They were great, but extremely disappointed the as they started so late that I have to be pulled away by my friend to catch my last trsin home before the encores and could hear them playing Transmission as I was leaving, which is one on my favourites :-(

I was so looking forward to see , new order , but the working with the sound start ed with the guest group very good , but I couldn't understand what he was singing . I thought it was me . Than when new order started. I could not hear what he was singing , I was annoyed , and asked around , we all had the same issue , couldn't understand when he was singing , such a bad sound. .

Set was good, but deffo missed Hooky's bass. Was more of a Karaoke performance than hitting new heights. Then what was I really expecting. Saw them at their best at the Hacienda, so it was never going to live up to it. Not a big fan of nostalgia.

I last saw New Order over twenty years ago and Im wondering why I waited over twenty years to see them again. Their music and talent is timeless and witnessing the sheer joy by the audience when they performed their "classics"was incredible. If like me you want to be swept back to the eighties or are a newer fan, you really MUST see them. The Ballroom in Birmingham is a fab venue, there are even a few seats for the older fan!!

I'm putting my disappointment down to the fact the sound was so bad and New Order didn't stand a chance. Its the first time I've actually wanted to walk out of a gig half way through. It probably didn't help that I had seen Bombay Bicycle Club a few days before and they are amazingly good.

Great gig, but I would think that you need to be a New Order fan to enjoy it.....it is sad to say it, but the energy is a bit lacking, old age is catching up with them. The music, of course, was epic!

New Order were brilliant, the band sound great live. The problem I had was that I couldn't see most of it due to the people in front of me standing up dancing for the whole show. I'm not opposed to people having a good time but there were standing tickets available if that's what they want to do, It's the first venue I've been to were they allowed to do this. It ruined my experience as I am unable to stand myself for any length of time that's why I buy seated!!

The sound engineer needs sacking. I have never heard such an awful set-up it was shocking, and the audience agreed. We were sat up in the circle in Appollo Manchester and coudnt hear a single lyric - complete waste of money. It was like listening to an old tape back in the 80's when your younger siblings had pushed up all the knobs on the graphic equalizer - in fact that would have sounded better.
I complained to the steward and he replied " yeah it sounds awful - was the same yesterday".

WTF?

Having failed to get tickets for Manchester which sold out in about 10minutes I had to settle for this event on a Sunday in gloomy Birmingham. Glad I went as the set was really excellent, New Order being one of a number of bands I regretted not seeing years ago. Great to see them in a smaller setting, really liked the venue. Shame there were some idiots in the crowd who should be able to behave better at 40+ but they didn't spoil the gig ultimately.
