Michael Mcdonald was superb as always. This guy is brilliant and has an amazing talent, not only vocally but in his songwriting. Long may he continue to tour in the UK as not many to better him!!!

Al Green was amazing and just goes to prove that he has still got it. He was full of energy and amazing vocals.

Both backing singers and bands for both acts were superb.

A really enjoyable concert that had the whole audience up on their feet. Sorry it wasnt as well attended but for people that didnt go you missed a rare treat.
OK voices older but the magic of both performers were still there.
I lost track of the Michael McDonald songs I had forgotten about.
Audience mainly older be hey we still know how to have a good time

The concert with McDonald and Al Green was amazing.
I came for All Green, but I really enjoyed Michael McDonald, I have to say that it was not an artist known by me though I have heard some of his songs, but I took pleasure to discover such an artist and the group, I like the style. I will definately buy his track.

Regarding Al Green, it was astonished, I had already attended to one of his concert in France, I am also used to listen to his music, but he was really great. I delighted to be in the O2 Arena. I think it was an appropriate place for this type of event, close to the centre of London. Both singers are my type of music.

Al Green is without doubt a true showman. His voice is as good now as it was then and like the good rev said we were all thinking can he hit them high notes, well he certainly could! Would have preferred him to have been slightly more serious when singing some of his ballards but I still enjoyed it. I also really enjoyed Michael McDonald and thought his voice was excellent. I was surprised how many of his songs I actually knew!

The night was nearly ruined by a group of older couples in front who were completely ignorant to the rest of the crowd in the MEN and thought they were the only ones in the place. They continued to get more and more dunk and of course more and more loud which meant at times I could not hear Al Green at all, just them. Sorry to rant on about this and I know that this has nothing to do with Al Green or Michael McDonanlds performance but I am hoping that the staff at the MEN may see this and think on. They allowed these people to ruin some of the night for me even though they constantly walked past looking at them but doing nothing about them. Maybe if they had stood a foot out into the aisle they may have done. People pay good money to watch their idols at shows like these and their night should not be ruined by some ignorant, selfish, drunken people. And they certainly should not be allowed to get away with it just because they are sat in their seats!! Sorry rant over.

Michael McDonald is one of my favourite singers and he did not let me down. The only thing I would say is it would have been nice if he'd sang a few more of his own songs. His greatest hits album is my most played album and it would have been good to hear more songs from that album. Nevertheless, I loved him and am waiting for his next concert! Michael having Jackie Graham as a guest for a duet was excellent. Al Green was an absolute bonus being as I didn't realise he was singing that night when I first brought the tickets. Al was fantastic and can still hit those hi notes. He was also very funny :-) A fantastic night!

Amazing!! must admit wasn't sure who Al was until I saw him on Friday night with J Ross.
Originally booked tickets for husbands 50th and was going to go after Michael McDonald had performed, but thankfully we decided to stay and boy am I glad we did.
Al was fantastic, what a performance well worth staying for.

From start to finish both performers excelled themselves in every way. Unbelieveable from the rev. Al Green, and Michael McDonald never disappoints, although I would have loved a longer show from both of them. Both established artists who just get better and better!

Michael Mc Donald was my main interest in this double act - and 'boy did he not let me down.
What a musician. What a composer. What a talent. WHAT A VOICE!
He really sings like he means every word and it was goose-bumpingly extraordinary.
And the band he brought with him were fenomenal.
(I want to see him, Donald Fagan & Boz Scaggs in September i the US so much it physically hurts but alas - I can't afford to.)
Had I been reviewing only him it would be a strong five star. Truly Amazing!

Then again, Al Green didn't let anybody down either. He also sings like a God and struts his stuff like you'd expect. He could have left out the silly rose-offering bit though and concentrated on the music. His also fantastic band - and daughter back-up singers deserved to be heard more.

But it was over-all a great evening, well worth coming in from Brussels for...!

It started with Michael singing a selection of his hits. he was outstanding, brings the thought of summer and happy days and nights. Then Al came on and he was amazing can still cut it beautiful songs sung with a great voice. Knows how to work an audiance.

Michael McDonald was fantastic sang all of his old songs great voice .Al Green was good bit too much band playing not enough of his old sing along songs Its just a shame that most of the audience didn't turn up on time and were still allowed in half an hour into the concert causing problems blocking our view while they were shown to there seats Come on 02 sort it out I didn't pay to look at the back of late comers.

I hadn't been to the 02 since late January 2000 when it was still called the millennium dome.... it has changed. Listening to all those Michael McDonald tunes and actually being able to see the man him self perform was fantastic some people are so talented they deserve to be famous, there was a cameo by Jackie Graham I had forgotten what a good voice she has, I actually spent a day in the studio with her in Notting Hill. I had wanted to see All green since I saw his 70's performance of I'm so tired of being alone on the 6/20 soul train, I can honestly say I was not disappointed, he's still got it.

I thought both acts were fabulous. I had been to see Michael McDonald before so knew what to expect, although I felt the sound system let him down. The music and songs were amazing, couldn't stop tapping my feet and wanting to sing. Great rapport with the audience, but disappointed as I say with the sound system.

Al Green - what an amazing voice! Lots of energy and enthusiasm, the sound system sounded perfect for him so maybe Michael's problems were with his own sound men? Whatever it was that Al Green was on, I would like some!

Al Green gave a note-perfect performance.

Although he's been round the block many times over, he hasn't lost an ounce of charisma and the voice has all the range and expression we hear on all those 'best of' CDs. The show has no surprises - the nearest we get to anything like a gimmick is simply Green handing out red roses throughout the evening to swooning ladies at the edge of the stage. But he does the job and delivers exactly what we went there to hear: his best-known and best-loved songs, delivered with hundred per cent heart and soul.

Must admit, I had never heard of Macdonald but I thought his show was above average and did enjoy it. However The Rev Al Green took it to another level. His show was just stupendous. Hope it does not take him too long to do it again!

Re: The O2, I had the best seat since I started seeing shows at the venue. I enjoy going to the O2 when I have good seats but not Level 4 please.

To have both of these class acts on the same bill was a great idea. Their back catalogue of hits were played to perfection....the two men have still got what it takes for a wonderful evening of popular music at its best. They both had 12,000 people on their feet with their hits. Both stars have retained their unique singing voices into their 60's.They can still make those high notes with ease.
The backing groups for both acts featured some amazing musicians in their own right. The 'Reverand' Al Green is aptly named indeed !!

Really went to see Michael McDonald and was not disappointed. The real revelation was Al Green..what a performer...what a voice...great entertainer...enjoyable atmosphere. The man deserves his reputation as the best singer around.
We would go again tomorrow to see these two.

Love Al Green, hence chose to go to the 02 which is 10 mins from me. Linen brigade in force moaning if you got up and boogied! Spoiled our night
