The gig itself was very good, and the support were excellent, but I went away a bit annoyed at the shortness of the gig, given the expense. Some good stuff from the bqck catelogues of both, more from Cooders though. Another annoying feature was the re-seating fiasco...
It was my 50th that day, and I remember a much better gif in Dublin with Cooder almost 30 years ago; I was hoping for more recent stuff

I've seen Ry Cooder many times over a period of nearly 25 years and have always been amazed at his musical genius. Can't wait til he's next in London....

Ry Cooder is one of the most brilliant and creative musicians in his genre, as wide as that is. His concert at the Lyceum was thoroughly enjoyed by the whole crowd, all of whom were so disappointed when it ended. For such a small band, it was full on and I loved every minute of it. I could listen to him play guitar for hours and hours, and have over the years on my stereo.......

Lifelong long Ry Cooder fan- the consumate guitarist never disappoints. Although Mexican accordionist Flaco Jimenez billed to appear no reason given by management or artists why he was not present on the stage.

This was rock at its most leisurely, low key mode with a very laid back ambience. Cooder's virtuos guitar playing remains uniquely astringent, with the range of influences across his career all displayed- Ragtime, Tex Mex , Blues and Hawaian.
It was astonishing how many empty seats there were for such an apparition, though there had been a concert the previous evening just down the road.
Ry did most of the talking including the most delicious put down of the disastrous Neo-Con tenancy of the White House I have ever heard.
Who will survive longest, us or them ? Judging by the length of the queues for the male toilets, they will still be playing when most of us have gven up the ghost.
