The first half was really good especially Mary Wilson from the Supremes. Everyone was on a high, but had we known the Commodores were coming for the whole second half we would have left earlier - they killed the concert stone dead! The 4 stars awarded are for the first half only!

An excellent evening of entertainment, worth every penny, the Commadores were still amazing, Mary Wilson still has such a powerful voice and stil captures the audience. What an enjoyable evening, what a night to remember. But what a sad end to a fantastic night to hear of the tragic loss of legend and hero Michael Jackson.

For years I've sung 'Jimmy Mack' but to hear it live by Martha and The Vandellas themselves, I was in heaven.The Miracles were superb - what characters - and The Tears of a Clown was another classic. Mary Wilson kept the party going with all the old Supremes numbers and gots lots of the audience up on the stage to join in the dancing. The Commodores rounded the whole evening off perfectly. Three hours of Motown bliss.

The first half of the concert were Motown greats who made their name in the 60s and 70s. Some of them may not be as moblie as they once were but the music was great. The Commodores were the second part of the concert. Their show was much flashier than the older performers and suffered only from the absence of Lionel Richie. His voice is so distinctive that their new lead singer cannot truly replace him.

Brilliant show , well performed given the age of the artists,it certainly brought the memories back.biggest let down were the Commodores who certainly did'nt live up to their top billing. I can see why Lionel went solo!!. They should have been on first at the bottom of the bill ,we could have left on a high,instead it left the end a bit flat

Travelling from Southampton we were looking forward to a great evening seeing the acts we had grown up with. Junior Walker played the saxaphone and brought to life his music. Martha Reeves was older but her music and delivery was still brilliant. The Miracles where fantastic they didnt miss Smokey Robinson. Mary Wilson brought back lots of lovely memories of The Supremes.
Then we had the break and headed back to our seats to watch the Commodores.
What a let down. Too much talking and not enough singing. The atmosphere that the rest of the acts had given us was gone in a flash. What a great pity. The only tune that matched up to any memory was Night Train. Lots of people left including ourselves before the end. Anyway thanks to everyone for a brilliant evening.

This show truly was 'once in a lifetime'! The Miracles, Jr Walkers All Stars, Martha Reeves and Mary Wilson were amazing!! If I look anywhere near as good as Mary Wilson when I get to her age I will be a happy girl! All of these acts had everyone on their feet, singing and dancing - a real party atmosphere! I was singing the songs for days afterwards!
Unfortunately this fantastic show was somewhat tarnished by the Commodores! They sang a couple of their big hits, but then it sort of went flat. they kept insisting they were 'here to party' but it didn't feel like it. They managed to make the final track last 20 mins...thanks to a 'house remix'. I lost count of the number of people I saw leaving during their set.
Was the show 'once in a lifetime'? Well for all the rest of the acts...I wish it wasn't, but it probably will be. For the Commodores...I certainly don't plan seeing them again in the future!

well the performances were outstanding, but the venue (metro arena newcastle) really let it down as did the crowd. the venue is scruffy and cramped there was a lot of sound checking problems before and during the event and some of the artists were noticabley annoyed.

the crowd average age was quite high and when the final performances were about to start people began to leave and more so when the commodores came on as they were very loud.
they were short sets so i think people should show a little more respect than that and sit through it, i sat through things i didnt particularly want to so i could see the commodores, and i showed my apprieciation .

alll in all the show was of a decent pace not much waiting between acts but its a mixed bag, so if you dont have a natural appreiciation of music and only want to see your favourite ones i just woudlnt go and spoil things for other people. recap venue scruffy crowd poor. performances excellent.

A great trip back in time for me. Wonderful songs, lighting effects and stage sets were good too. A great night out and would definitely go again if I ever could and that is a perfect recommendation I would say.

I was not expecting too much from the show but as a motown fan since the sixties was willing to take a chance. Unfortunately my fears were proved correct. Arriving at the MEN drenched from athunder storm it did not bode well. The all stars were already playing and were ok but could have been a tribute band. Where the Miricles got their Smokey replacement from I don't know. Mary Wilson thought she was Dianne Ross but should have stuck to background singing. Whilst the Commodores tried hard they missed the voice of lional ritchie. The only part i actually enjoyed was Martha and Vandellas but was dissapointed she only sang a couple of verses of one of my favourite songs " no one there". In future i think i will stick to my instincts and not attend. Having said that a lot of the audience did seem to enjoying the night so perhaps i was in the minority.

We had a great evening, and loved every minute. The music just made you want to get up and dance. My husband and myself and 90% of those around us did just that. The venue was easy to get to, the staff were polite & helpfull. All in all a great night.
