Simply one of the best gigs ever! Brilliant musicians, incredible girl singers banging out the hits but also making sure they cranked up the party atmosphere. This was about as far from the X factor karaoke machine as you can get. Simply awesome!

Probably the most fun I've had at a gig, some classics being played as well as their funky originals. The lead singer is incredible, Nile Rodgers makes funk guitar look effortless and the fill in bassist for deceased Bernard Edwards was also great.

Nice tribute to Bernard Edwards for his 15th anniversary since his death, playing 'I'm Coming Out' and 'Upside Down' by Diana Ross - Edwards/Rodgers compositions, as well as 'We Are Family' by Sister Sledge which Edwards and Rodgers also composed.

They blended their original Chic numbers with covers like Sugarhill Gang's Rapper's Delight, and then back into the original 'Good Times'.

Overall, a really good gig, though they could do with a decent support act rather than a funk DJ.

Setlist: Too busy dancing to keep track - that's what actual journalists get paid to do @

Opening act(s): DJs - really? What a waste of time and money...two guys spinning away like they were 'real musicians'...shame shame - an iPod in a docking station could do the same job... then the ticket price could PAY the artist sweating for his craft, not simply spinning someone else's. @

One hour and fourty-five minutes of Boogie Bliss-out! Finally, got to see the reserved (and boring) London crowd actually MOVE to a beat - well, if anyone was going to have the supernatual powers required to do that bit of magic, it was MOST CERTAINLY going to be NIle Rogers! Hit after hit after foot-stomping hit and still didn't even crack the tip of the monumental catalogue that is his life's work.
The band was MONSTER - two horns filled the hall like 20; the female singers performed with both range and dynamic mastery; guitars & keys rang out and the bass playing was on fire and held a steady driving pace with the drums (drummer only a few days on the gig)...Naturally Nile Rogers' own guitar playing was blistering, soul-filled and mighty tasty - as always!
Could have kept on dancing for another 2hrs as easily as Niles could have provided the tunes.
But even superheroes need a break - and to leave us wanting MORE
What a great gig!
Glad I got to kiss his hand - thank you, Mr Rogers for decades of purely indulgent pleasures!

Opening act(s): Terrible....... 'Opening act' would be an overstatement. Two guys with two turntables and a box of vinyl for and hour and three quarters doesn't count as an opening act to me. Wish we'd gone to the pub instead. @

There are some gigs when you know from the first few bars that's it's going to be great. This was one of those - great sound and very tight band obviously cooking with gas and having a ball.
Not only did we get the Chic and Sister Sledge hits, we got songs Nile produced for Diana Ross (but funkier), Madonna, Bowie (not 100% successful) and even Sheila & B Devotion (Spacer).
But what a finish... Nile invited 'a few' people onto the stage for a disco party. He got around fifty, so the band and singers squeezed together and gave us Good Times. Health and safety - pah. Amazing stuff.
Pity the poor security guy in the balcony trying to stop people near the front of the balcony from dancing. Excuse me - Chic are playing Good Times and you want people to sit down. I don't think so.
On the tube afterwards, the massive smiles told you who'd been to Chic.

Absolutely fabulous night! All the classic hits just as I remember them. Even invited half the audience on stage to enjoy "Le Freak" alongside the great man himself! 2nd time I've seen them now and they never fail to impress. A wonderful disco party that is definitely recomended!

It was my first time to the Forum in Kentish Town and I was impressed with the venue and the atmosphere generated.
It was also the first time I had seen Chic live despite being a fan for years.
The band certainly performed well as a tight unit and I really enjoyed the whole evening.

Not only did they perfrom their own tunes but also did tunes they produced for other artists such as Sister Sledge and Diana Ross.

For the last few tunes they actually allowed the audience to join them on stage to dance and sing a long to Le Freak and Good Times

Was a really awesome concert and the whole place was rocking! The DJ on before events started was also playing some wicked tunes and i couldn't sit down all nite!
Support act: WestCoast Soul Stars were also brilliant and i hope they get the success they deserve. I love the O2,but i like IndigO2 even better. Its more personable,your closer and it has more of a 'Nightclub' feel...

We had an amazing night at the indigo2 - this is a fantastic venue. Chic sounded great and played all the hits- everyone was dancing. This was a very polished performance, Nile certainly knows how to do it right. All the band looked and sounded perfect. The support act were very good and got everyone warmed up. All in all one of the best gigs we've been to - highly recommended.

It was a great event the girls were gorgeous and could sing. Kimberley Davies had the better voice it was powerful and soulful but the Mexican Diva, Melissa Jiminez was great entertainment value with her sexy sultry moves and Diana Ross style of singing. The live band were really talented, especially Nile and the big bass guitar player, don't remember his hame though. However, they only performed about 6 Chic tracks. Half the concert consisted of hits Nile Rodgers wrote for other artists, e.g. Diana Ross, Sister Sledge, Davd Bowie and Madonna. The concert ended with an encore of the Chic hit 'Good Times'. A good night out for the mature raver who remembers the soul night outs in the late 70's and 80's.

Of course it was a good show. It was Chic so it wouldn't be anything else, but it wasn't as exciting for me as the show Chic did last year at The Forum in Kentish Town because they played exactly the same songs as they did a year ago. I also missed keyboard player Cherie Mitchell. On the plus side, the sound quality at The Indigo was a lot better than The Forum. Last year I could barely hear Nile Rodgers' guitar, but at The Indigo it was crisp and clear. If Chic return to London next year I'll definitely go again whatever venue they play. Hopefully they'll play some different songs for us

Having missed the original line up perform on too many occasions, I made sure I was at the Indigo 02 for this performance. And Nile, despite being a bit tired was on top form. All the renditions of his hits were terrific. A lovely man and all time great in the music world.

Although the band is called Chic featuring Nile Rodgers, he is the only member of the original band. As well as playing all the Chic hits they also played other songs pened by Nile. These included the early Sister Sledge hits plus the 1980 Diana Ross songs as well as Sheila B Devotion's Spacer David Bowie's let Dance and Modjo's Lady based on Chic's 'one for soup'. I really enjoyed it as it was a mix of Chic material plus other great Nile Rodgers tracks.

Nile Rodgers Hit maker extraordinaire, Lord High priest of funk and groove and his wonderful Chic Organisation. There are many words that could be used to describe the band and the evening. The simple fact is they were AWESOME.
From note one to the final groove then band delivered hit after hit. If you have never seen Chic then your life is deficient. Do yourself a favour and see them.
