We, my wife and I, have enjoyed Joan Baez in concerts and on vinyl since 1964.
At concerts in San Francisco, in Nov.64, with Bob Dylan, and at open air concerts
on San Jose Rodeo Stadium, CA, and at Stanford Univ. football stadium -
- in 1970. Monday's (Oct.12,2009) concert was semi-nostalgic. The unusually
high price, 5 BPS, Programme was not a programme: no listing of performers
etc. - full of glossy photos of a lady far from the Levi jean tradition of the 60s.
Joan's voice was fragile, a bit coarse, and could not hold the tones for very long.
In the end it was a bit too much. I was disturbed by shouting spectators.
