Union chapel is a great venue, but we had to wait for nearly two hours before shelby came in stage! This included listening to a very mediocre and unnecessary support act for a half hour. Why could they not have brought shelby on an hour earlier and we could ave all gone home an hour earlier, instead of bringing us in at 7.00 and bringing her in at 8.45?? She was really fantastic though!,

The support was just awful. But worth sitting through to get to the next part...
From start to finish this was an incredible, emotional performance covering the bulk of her latest album 'Revelation Road' combined with other Shelby classics such as 'Jesus on a Greyhound' and 'Johnny Met June' (the latter reducing me to tears!). Shelby has a truly awesome talent both as a songwriter and performer. People will rave about the likes of Alison Krauss to Adele to Joni Mitchell to whoever but Shelby Lynne is the real deal and head and shoulders above the rest.

Shelby has poured all the pain of her life so far which is a typical country background, into her music. Abuse, death, failed marriage and coming out - it's all there in her remarkable story. Great voice, real authenticity and a good entertainer too!

Seeing Shelby Lynne in the Union Chapel was really wonderful. She stood alone, centre-stage with just her guitar for nearly 2 hours and wowed us. Her songs are so moving - had tears welling up a few times. Such a talented artist and warm person. The venue is lovely too - a special atmosphere.

I saw Shelby last year at the Cadogan Hall, after being given her CD 'Just a Little Lovin' by a friend. She was fantastic then and so I was more than excited when I heard she would be back to play the Union Chapel. She was even better this year than the last, the setting and acoustics being ultimately more suited to Shelby's intimate, effortlessly soaring vocals. This show probably ranked as one of the top five concerts I've ever seen. The 1 3/4 hour she played went by so quickly that even with two standing ovations, I wished she had played for longer.

Having seen Shelby Lynne on many occasions on both sides of the Atlantic, I can happily say her show in Union Chapel was the best I have ever seen her.
Even Shelby proclamied this to be the best gig she had ever done. Her emotional connection with the crowd was so intense, that people sat spellbound by her utter magnificence. One of the very best concerts I have ever witnessed. Shelby is an underrated treasure and it is a pleasure to see her back in the UK.

What a great gig! Shelby Lynne was simply terrific as she delivered songs from her latest album Revelation Road and earlier work. Accompanying herself on guitar she showed what a great songwriter she is. On some of her songs her pain was so palpable I would have liked to have got up on stage and give her a comforting hug!. She has one of the most powerful voices in country music and deserved a much bigger crowd....although the intimate setting of Oran Mor was ideal for her accoustic set.

Fabulous performance form a real professional. Songs taken from her new album along with a selection from others, each played and sung perfectly. I was surprised that she had no backing band, but I'm sure if she had it would have just detracted from the warmth and intimacy of the performance. Songs about her tragic young life, about hurt, loss and love, all delivered with honesty and conviction. She is also though someone who transmits romance in a song the way few others can. A true artist and a beautiful woman. It was particularly great to see her to see her perform in a small club type venue. Perfect for this kind of performer.

Cadogan Hall is fast becoming my favourite venue for seeing rock artistes who are keen to deliver intimate and under amplified performances. Not quite "unplugged acoustic" sets but low key acoustic and electric sets, where the acoustics of the venue and easy viewing from all seats are shown to great effect.
I knew little of Shelby's music before I went based solely on my brother's recommendation from his seeing her when she last performed in London at the RFH South Bank. Ultimately that did not matter as from the word go she was a very lively and engaging singer and performer with many stories about the songs and her life interspersing.
Very strong vocals and neat and tasty acoustic playing with her electric guitarist accompanist made for a very enjoyable evening where a very full set of songs left me looking forward to her next London concert.

Having seen Shelby on every date of her UK tour, this was the best. Her song selection had been more extensive in Manchester but Shelby took on new dimensions of expression and emotion on this particular evening. Her voice had never sounded better and left the packed hall in utter reverence. Without doubt one of the most incredible performances I have witnessed throughout the 1000+ concerts I have seen in my life time.

It was such a shame to see so few people in the Lowry's smaller performance space, but Shelby performed for around 2 hours and it was as if she was singing personally for us at home. Her attitude and stage presence were astonishing. Her generosity to the fans and playing so many of her songs from her entire catalogue was faultless. Come back soon Shelby.

Shelby Lynne is without doubt the most underrated singer/songwriter in music. Her show was very different to her last UK visit and it was an inspired choice to use just one musician. We could really hear the way Shelby had written the songs and she was able to pour gallons of emotion into everything she sang and played.I hated this venue, the seats were uncomfortable, it was cold and visibility was bad even on the second row but Shelby's voice/charm and persona more than made up for it. It was nice to see so mnay people in for this show and the promoter had obvioulsy done a good job for this particular show on the tour.

I had never been to Cadogan Hall and so I really didn't know what to expect. Sitting on the stage with a fellow guitarist, Shelby and her fellow musician seemed dwarfed by the big, empty stage. But, as it turned out, it didn't really matter. As soon as Shelby started singing, one forgot about the lack of atmosphere and I was carried away by the tone and beauty of her voice, as cliche as that sounds. The two hours flew by and I am now a huge fan. What a magical evening. I can't recommend her highly enough.

Really enjoyed the music - fabulous voice and sound - but felt the lighting let down the set (at no point could you actually see her face as the lighting was coming from behind her). Pity in such an intimate venue.
