I need to keep this brief as i would bore yous all by babbling on for far too long!
Well i went to the Tennents Vital (T-Vital) Concert at ward park last year with many acts supporting the headliner. These acts included D12, Kaiser Chiefs, Jimmy Eat World and others off the main stage.
On the third last act, which was Jimmy Eat World, the heavens opened and it lashed with rain continuously for a solid 2 hours, right through until Eminems setlist was just about to begin. As shady says, "If it rains let it rain, yeahh the wetter the better", this didn't bother the crowd of thousands of people in the slightest!
From the chants SLIM SHADY echoing around ward park, the atmosphere was building incredibly, so much that one fan decided to climb a lampost!
The lights went down, it was now 9 o'clock and dark around the city of Bangor..... There was goosebumps right down my spine when the introduction video for Shady began to play. It was a dream moment for myself as i had been a fan since i first heard my first record of him when i was 6 years old. This was a dream come true, i was actually going to be in the presence of Eminem, the master of rap!
The music to his colaberated song with pink 'Won't Back Down' echoed around ward park and the place went absolutely mental!
His set list lasted a good 2 hours and he made a statement to music event organisers that night, that there is still love for rap at summer music festivals! His collaberations on stage with his band mates D12 and Royce 'Da' 5'9 were incredible. He knew how to reach out to his fans and done so in a way that it was unforgettable!
His thank you to the crowd at the end left many in tears and in hope that this once in a life-time opportunity could maybe become a dream and happen once more!
