I was really looking forward to seeing Anna Calvi as the performance on Jools Holland was great. On the night they were fantastic, Anna was unable to play guitar but the gig was still 5 stars, can't imagine it being better, but video footage of her playing looks awesome. This is the most impressed I have been in a very long time, the whole band are fantastic, and they sound even better live than on record. The percussion and drumming were mesmerising to me, absolutely no lightweights on that stage. Comparisons to PJ Harvey and Jeff Buckley abound, I was lucky enough to see them both play live, if Jeff was still with us and Anna, PJ and Jeff had gigs in my hometown on the same night, I'd be heading to Anna's gig, that's if I could get a ticket, as these will become very hot cakes soon. The set might have been quite short, but it was perfect, always leave them wanting more. I hope I get a chance to see her play again and would love my kids to see her play. She's a Star.

Hurts are possibly the best band since Depeche Mode came onto the scene.
