What a great festival, at 51 yrs old I have done a few but this was one of the best. The big four alone were worth the 3 day ticket price, they all put in great performances. I knew nothing much about the band "Volbeat", but wow they were so refreshingly good and if you don't have their latest CD - GET IT! "Slipknot" stole it for me with a simply awesome show. "Killing Joke" were fantastic and should have never been in the tent. This brings me to my "Nearly" in the review title, there were so many bands deserving of Main Stage status ahead of the very below average "Biffy Clyro". They really were the odd band out for this festival - please don't make this mistake next year!

bands were awsome, but getting into the festival was a nightmare, arrived on Thursday in campervan, signs from A1 directed us to the camping entrance where we informed we needed to go to the campervan entrance opposite end of the site but that the diversion signs were all wrong and therefore we'd need to go all the way back to the A1 back a few junctions and then come back in to get to the campervan entrance, a total farce which meant it took about 3 hours from us first arriving at site to actually getting onto the campervan field! Also would have prefered showers on campervan site like they have a t Download

What an amazing weekend, even the weather didn't dampen our spirits!!!! 2nd year on the trot and to have The Big 4 there was awesome, being the biggest Metallica fan ever, they absolutely didn't disappoint.
At the risk of being scrutinised by Biffy fans, I have to say I'm very surprised he was a headliner this year. Friends of mine also agree, he is much better suited for Reading or Leeds fest and I would've preferred to have seen someone like Korn or Machinehead or bands of that ilk, Biffy just didn't seem to fit with the rest of the bands during that weekend.
Despite that am looking forward to next year and can't wait for the metal madness to start again!!!!!!!!

Once again Sonisphere was awesome. It has an excellent layout regarding carparking, camping and arena, the only downside is the market is inside the arena where you are not allowed to take your own alcohol, so no shopping and drinking for the fiancially challenged! The bands this year were amazing - wot more can you say about the Big Four, and Slipknot on the same weekend. Why no second stage for Friday tho?
Festival toilets - they're not great but the campsite ones were cleaned regularly and loo roll replenished. Arena urinals need some attention, this is the second year that they've overflowed. We need them emptied or more provided.

Althought the list of bands looked a little light beyond the first night this was a truely quality weekend. Camping was predictably noisy but fine (even with a 12 year old -albeit a 12 year old that would sleep through WW3!) The car parking was .....distant but made up for the organisation of the festival. Lots of unobtrusive security/police allowed for a quality experience without the feeling of overbearing authority.
The big four were awesome with Metallica truely amazing.
The second day line up was great (we both intended to stay for one song for Biffy Clyro but statyed to the end. WOW) and the third day rocked.
THe only critisim is that Friday should have been swapped for Saturday. We struggled to get there in time on the Friday....

Excellent event second year on the trot!,all the main bands were great stand outs were "Biffy Clyro"very unsual but exstremely talented ,slip knott were great and would have loved it if a few years younger!- but none could compare to the kings of metal "Metallica" what a performance old and new and a great set list.

So this was our first festival. The wife won two tickets, so that was her and the daughter sorted. I bought mine with Ticketmaster vouchers, recieved for my 50th birthday.
This was an incredible event with so many highlights matching the fact that the "big four" were on the same bill. From the sad news of Worzals death (Motorhead), through the remembering of Paul Grey (Slipknot), to the triumph of Biffy Clyro winning over the die hard metal fans, this event touched all of the emotions. Three days of the best metal available, leaving me with memories that will last a lifetime.
The camping was as expected. Load, muddy and, at times, outrageous. Not for the faint hearted!!
Organisation was fantastic, with good humoured (and they were tested at times) security people. Times were adhered to,ensuring that you never missed a band that you wanted to see. The sound was generally fantastic with the very odd exception.
Everybody involded with the organising and the runnng of the event deserves a pat on the back for their efforts.

Sonisphere just gets better and better, well organized & event staff/security where extremley helpfull. Tickets go on sale on wednesday 13th july 2011 for next years event on 6th/9th july 2012.

Unforgettable yet again!

From the Big 4 to Bill Bailey to Slipknot there were so many great acts.

Friday was alll about the Big 4 and they did not dissapoint. Saturday was not quite up to the standard of Friday, but Gallows and headliners Biffy Clyro were on top form.

Sunday was a belter, In Flames, Mastodon, Limp Bizkit, Bill Bailey, Slipknot ! What a day.

Cheers Sonisphere, looking forward to next year.

Everything about Sonisphere was awesome, and everyone seemed really polite and friendly. Great chilled atmosphere all-round. Came especially to see Rammstein though. Just can't get enough of this band ... and they didn't disappoint at Sonisphere. Their set, as always, was amazing from start to finish with all the pyro etc. Rammstein truly rock ... and the local papers agreed with me, saying also that their show at Sonisphere will go down in folklore, likening them to Led Zeppelin ... and that's cult status!! The other bands at Sonisphere were great too ... loved all of them. All in all, a brilliant week-end ... can't wait til next year!!
