I was fortunate enough to see Grace Jones live for the first time two years ago. But this year she took her performance to another level altogether. She interacted far more than before with the audience who were in awe of her. I cant wait to see her return to Lovebox again!

it was slightly disappointing (from an organisational point of view)but great atmosphere nonetheless. The organisers could have released the schedule much earlier, and the good acts could have been spaced out better instead of all the good ones clashing together.

Uninteresting line-up / poor VIP experience
Firstly - the 'VIP experience' - very poor compared to last year where Bedouin-style tents provided shelter from the intermittent rain whilst Norman Jay was DJ'ing.
For the hungry - there were a variety of options incl. a Jamie Oliver food van.
This year there was a village fete / Crufts (CRUFTS!) theme with the Dj's of 'Kubicle' being interrupted every ten minutes, or so, with Barbara Woodhouse esq doggy-related announcements over a very loud tannoy.
After complaints were made we were thankfully spared any further tannoy announcements.
As for the tents - fewer (two incl. the drinks tent versus five last year) and much less inviting.
As for 'Kubicle' - I guess it's a little unfair to compare Melanie Blatt (remember her?) et al 'spinning' ten-year-old hip-hop to Norman Jay.
Secondly - the Saturday line-up (always a little hit-and-miss at this festival).
Why was Kelis moved from the main stage to clash with Emeli Sande (vanilla) & Groove Armada (ebbed with highlights incl. Ms Staton providing a lesson to the young things in the crowd on the definitive version of 'You got the love')?
I missed her which, by most accounts, was a real shame as she was apparently very good.
Friendly Fires were good.

Overall I had a fun day, though the sound problems for Chaka Khan's first 3 songs was really annoying. Also I'd really wanted to see Ronika but she was on really early (2pm-ish) so missed her sadly. Nice atmosphere though and a fun day overall.

This was the most fun I've had at a festival ever. The line up was great, Subfocus and Magnetic Man were particularly good. I had an awesome Tash face painted on by The Pink Pamper Parlour and there were never queues for the loos! Will definitely be going again next year :)

LoveBox is always an incredible festival in the lovely Victoria Park (built to keep us East Enders out of Hyde Park!)
Facilities like food; tobacco sellers and loos much more sophisticated than in the old days of festivals though the loos could have done with a clean up 1/2 way thru the day.
Ms Dynamite was more drums and bass than ever and Black Market in the Big Top was a brilliant new discovery for me.
Even though constant rain was forecast in London we were blessed as not a drop fell on the festival on Friday.
Facilities like food; tobacco sellers and loos much more sophisticated than in the old days of festivals though the loos could have done with a clean up 1/2 way thru the day.

Hi.
I've been to Lovebox in 2005, 2006, 2010 and 2011 as well as this year and i think that since the Hospitality tent/drum and bass arenas have been introduced the type of crowd has really changed, and not for the better! the crowd is a lot younger and obnoxious. Gone are the days of Lovebox chilled but fun festival vibes.
Also, I think that you could have prepared better for the weather. The Crosstown Rebels stage should of had some kind of canopy or awning.

A festival is all about having fun and enjoying the day, even if the line up is not the best ever. And I had all of this in Lovebox. And by the way, the Groove ARmada gig was just great!

Very very very positive experience. the lineup for starters was absolutely brilliant. had so so so many outstanding up and coming acts including shy fx redlight sub focus and skream. Was very easy to get to and from with easy transport links and within walking distance of the tube station. The actual festival ground was the perfect size and layout. The food stands were all high quality and there was loads of choice (however expensive). did not visit the bars but there were many all about the place. the toilets were numerous and near all the main stages. the big top and digital soundboy stages had great admospheres. The crowd was on the whole really friendly and not intimidating...obviously there to enjoy the music and atmosphere. would one hundred percent go again if the lineup was as good as that!

I really wasn't impressed with this festival at all. I feel nowadays people try and spread things out over more days to get more money and the quality just isn't as good. Norman Jay who was clearly one of the most popular ones had this tiny tent. The toilets were better than field day as in less queues but they wwere pretty rank. The queues for booze were really ridiculous, I was queuing for nearly an hour for drinks so sobered up completely. Also i didnt' think the sound was great, it needed wya more volume. I know it was windy so that doesn't help things as sound in the drum and bass tent wasn't so bad but the main stage for friendly fires, which i was really looking forward to just seemed really quiet. I also don't know if that is because it was in a residential area. I won't be paying to go again.

I'd never really heard of the people on the main stage hence the 4/5 stars - I was there for the Big Top and the second outdoor stage.
Friday I saw Madeon, Shy FX, Rusko and Sub Focus Live, incredible. Then on Saturday I dicovered new talent with Booka Shade, and Hospitality was just amazing, with Danny Byrd, Netsky and Camo & Krooked :D

I really liked the whole experience- I was there on the Sunday. upon entering I thought it was a bit dead because we arrived at around 1pm there were not a lot of people around and I thought it was going to be quiet the whole day. Turned out to be really busy from about 4pm because after seeing Mika the atmosfere was electric. I thought it was really conveniet getting drinks because the guys were walking around with the tanks on their backs although I think if there were more you would wait less because some people were getting 6-8 pints at a time from them to stock up for shows. Anyway I liked it- have to get to work now! Will see you next year! Thanks

The festival has a really fun atmosphere, it's not overly crowded and there's plenty of different acts and music genres to enjoy right in the heart of London.
The only real complaint is the difficulty getting a beer, the queues were huge and it soon became very annoying. Sort this out and you've got a good festival.

As I have said Grace Jones and Chic were excellent. The various food outlets were good and a reasonable variety of drinks. Usual festival drawbacks, disgusting toilets and no where to sit down.

Location:I live in Norfolk, so travelled down specially
There was no details of the times of acts published on the website in fact what was published was in something like reverse order with no indication of timings.. I turned up at 12.00 midday so that I could see Lana Del Ray, who appeared to be the second act, however she was not on stage until 7.15, I could not stay that long as I had left my dog at home and needed to let her out. Programs cost £6.00 I'd already paid over £100 for 2 tickets. Programs should be issued with the tickets as a matter of courtesy so that guests can organise their viewing easily.
This event seemed to me like a rip off and I wasted my money. Very disappointing. Not well organised at all.

This was my first Lovebox, so I had no idea what to expect at all. It was absolutely, 100% brilliant.
I had a Friday/Saturday ticket, and managed to catch the Rinse crew and Digital Soundboy on the Friday. Got a chance to see Hot Chip as well, who were terrific.
Saturday was mostly spent in the Big Top again, catching the Hospital crew. One of the best gigs I've ever been to - David Rodigan in particular! Such a brilliant atmosphere, which was true for the festival as a whole.
Would reccommend this festival to anyone with taste in dance music. Not exactly quiet or relaxing, but an awesome vibe. Many wonderful memories.
Only quibbles with the whole operation were food/drink prices, but they were hardly surprising given the festival context.
