I realise Alex over the years has not helped himself due mainly to his lifestyle but he was way out of sorts last Friday night in his exhibition match with Jimmy White and looked very poorly, I think he did his best against a rampant Jimmy White, my concern was that although an enjoyable evening it was marred by a poor sound system for the trick shot part of the evening, with John Virgo ill Tony Knowles stood in at the last minute and to be fair did his best, Maybe a throat mike or a headphone mounted system would have been much better than Trish Murphy trying to hold the microphone she was using to let he audience hear what Tony was trying to attempt with his trick shot, all in all not a major problem but needs sorting out for another time, We thought that there would have been more people in the audience than there was, Grimsby has always had a large snooker following but not many Friday night , we travelled in from Scunthorpe to the show and enjoyed it we await some other sports themed show at the excellent Grimsby Auditorium.
