ricky was not on stage for long and when he was he was poor and pushing his book.
The night was a big let down :(

The show had some funny bits, But alot of old and bad jokes.
The theatre was half empty this should have set the alarm bells
ringing. Ricky himself wasn't on for long and was poor, He seemed
more interested in selling his book.
All in all forgettable.

I read some really bad reviews after I had bought my tickets and my parents tickets so I thought this would be awful, the first half was good (dated old style stand up and some old jokes but my mum and dad loved it. The balloon dancers were stupidly funny, the real pile of dung was Black Onyx just leave after your drink at the interval and spare yourself from this

We went to see Ricky with friends because we 'd all been fans of hisand unfortunately for us we were very disappointed, he wasn't on the majority of the time his friends were and they were very amateur acts Ricky seemed to be a bit bitter about some things and especially his dislike for Cilla Black whom i thought he should not have mentioned ny name I'm sorry but he has lost four fans since that evening we won't be recommending the show.

The show was more than we expected. When Nick Barton came on I thought he was going to be a ham act but proved me wrong , he was very funny and has a really good voice. Eddie Archer also proved me wrong, I thought he was quite wooden when he came on stage but I haven't laughed so much in a long time. I'm still smiling. Black Onyx were excellent and very tallented. The balloon act could have been omitted. I know they ran out of time but I would have liked to have seen more of Ricky, especially playing the banjo - it would have been a good close to the show to end on a sing-a-long. There was a bit of a disappointed sigh when the audience realised that the show was over without more from Ricky. We bought the book and queued for it to be autographed which Ricky did tirelessly, chatting away to the individuals with genuine interest. A real feel good factor of a show.

I took my husband to see Ricky Tomlinson's Laughter show for his birthday and i have to say we were quite disappointed. Although the show was funny and we shared a few laughs, it wasn't at all what we expected. It should have been called "Ricky Tomlinson Presents".

Ricky introduced us to several acts, some ok and some appauling including a guy called Tony Barton who was very entertaining, nevertheless not what we thought we were paying to see. For the very limited amount of time Ricky was on stage, he was in fact hilarious, but after sitting and having to endure a guy who seemed like one of his lesser talented mates, who seemed completely overwhelmed by Ricky letting him have a slot on the show, we were actually considering leaving.

Thankfully Black Onyx came on stage who were funny, entertaining and certainly livened things up. After which time we were all thinking at last Ricky is back on stage, only to hear him say they had over run on time. He then read out a couple of competition winners and said, "Goodnight and Thank you"
We were completely shocked and ceratinly did not consider this show as value for money. Ricky is a great guy and it was him we thought we were going to see. As this
was hardly the case, it would be a good idea to reconsider the title of the show

I bought my husband the tickets for The Ricky Tomlinson Laughter Show for his birthday, thinking it was going to be a stand up show with Ricky Tomlinson. Ricky's stint was good and he's an interesting and funny bloke and the next two comedians who came on were okay and reasonably funny but the rest of the show was rubbish. Ricky Tomlinson needed to be on the stage for longer to make it worth it's money.

The only good part were the support acts...did over run slightly...but his second half (after extolling the value for money ethic) lasted about 5 minutes. People were well fed up, would have been funnier watching Whitney Houston attempt to sing I think..Tony Barton and Eddie Archer saved the night

I went to see him on the 15th and i thought he was great, he is natural and down to earth and seems to make everyone burst out laughing. it was nice to hear about his life and the comedy moments he has had with his career. his support artists i thought was great too.
1 thing that i thought was bad was the time was against them and it over ran so had to cut some of the show so didnt see all of it! end of the day if people have paid money then it dont matter what time it ends, but apart from that it was excellent show.

Nice atmosphere when Ricky was talking, he was very interesting and funny. This format is obviously easy work for him as he doesn;t have to do a lot. The three acts with him weren't great and Black Onyx were truly dreadful- it was like something from League of Gentlemen only serious! It would be great to see Ricky do his own show as he is the person everybody had come to see. If he did his own show, with a bit of banjo then I would pay to see him again. With the current format I certainly wouldn't as it was very poor value for money.

Started promising - promoting his book and said he would be telling us more stories later - so we were anticipating greater anecdotes and more to come after the interval. Sold his book (in the interval) for £9 signed so that was OK. Second half was disappointing - did not really enjoy the comedy group and wanted to hear more from Ricky which just didn't happen. Felt somehow confused and cheated as the show appeared to be cut short. Ricky appeared happy to have his photo taken and met people yet he said he was running out of time. Strange ending. Would have liked to have heard more from him.

what a great night full of laughs and humour right from the off.it was full of gags and great singing from the supporting acts,even the talk about ricky's past was very interesting.the show was great value for money with the show lasting just under 3hrs.

Black Onyx in the second half were absolutely, embarassingly awful! They took up the whole of the 2nd half with no time for Ricky to come back other than to say Good Bye. Its only down to the polite audience that more people didn't walk out and they didn't get boo'd off stage. What was worst was we were forced have them back for an encore when it was clear the audience didn't want one! It wasn't just that a Show Band is old fashioned, it was that they were unbearingly self undulgent and BAD. Not just my opinion, but shared with most of the audience judging by conversations overheard as we were leaving.
The first half of the show was OK. Ricky's stories were entertaining and the 2 "old style" commedians were funny, but they should stick to telling jokes & funny stories rather than singing.
Ricky, ditch Black Onyx or they are going to ruin your chances of getting audiences for future Laughter Shows.
