This was my first time ever seeing any of the bands however, I'd been waiting for over a year to finally go to see Black Veil Brides. I went with a group of friends who all basically wanted to see BVB two of them had seen them before and the other 3 of us hadn't. I ended up making three new friends that night.
We got to the venue and queued for about an hour as when we got there the queue was tiny at first. I'd gone prepared knowing that BVB concerts had the queue going round the block on a regular basis. There was one of the funniest moments of the night when we queued outside BVB's bus and we saw movement inside knowing that our favourite band was feet away from us literally. My friend Caitie actually knocked on the door then made us think about what we'd do if we got onto the bus and saw the band. Including imaging opening CC's bunk to find him naked in it. Anyway it would have helped if we knew that there ARE lockers at the venue beforehand.
After putting my stuff into a locker I came in about half way through Fearless Vampire Killers first song. During their set I grew quite fond of them despite some BVB comments they made in the Kerrang! Podcasts. Next arrived the Aussie rockers Tonight Alive who were obviously trying to impress the crowd more than FVK but, didn't do as well with their more Pop music themed songs. Jenna was very funny to watch climbing onto one of the speakers. I had listened to some of their music beforehand which did help as I sung along to Listening and Starlight to name a few. Chiodos arrived shortly afterwards with the excitement of seeing BVB in the flesh growing stronger within everyone. When Craig Owens stepped onto the stage he threw his water bottle into the crowd, hit one of the friend's we'd made in the queue on the head and went down half of my head and my right side. Chiodos definately got everyone headbanging and moshing to a certain extent.
After what seemed an age of pushing and shoving in order to get to the front, resulting in some bruised ribs and thirst BLACK VEIL BRIDES CAME ONTO THE STAGE!!! You literally knew this as everyone had their arms up in the air with their phones and cameras trying to get pictures not to mention the ear piercing screams. The first song I am Bulletproof from Wretched and Divine was explosive and made a performance to rival KISS with the fireworks by, this time I was in the 3rd-4th row from the front. It wasn't even half way through the song when Ashley Purdy had a bra hanging off his OUTLAW CADI Dean Bass's neck.
A couple of songs later Wretched and Divine was played what happened during this song really made my week of pure happiness being topped off to another level which is in my fave moments bit. On Tuesday 12th Feb I was RETWEETED BY ASHLEY PURDY about him being in Kerrang's Valentine's Day issue :DDDDD I then bought the mag the next day where he is protected under my bed and will go onto my wall at some stage. Ashley then proceeded to get on the floor of the stage and play like a badass. Legacy came on shortly afterwards which sounds far better LIVE compared to any recording on Youtube. Ashley's Bass solo was IMMENSE to say the least and so sexy.
Overture was a moment I was was unable to forget as Jinxx started to play his Violin. Unfortunately I my camera deleted the photo I got of Jinxx playing his Violin :( Jinxx's superior Violinist skills carried into Shadow's Die to the point of me actually crying. In Shadow's Die they were actually joined by DJ William Control as the voice of F.E.A.R. You see I play Viola which is larger than a Violin and I found out that week Jinxx can also play the Viola :DDD There was a sudden change in the setlist at the last moment as Andy announced Rebel Love Song and they started to play Rebel Yell. I have a few amazing Andy photos from that night which are some of the best photos I've ever taken at a gig. We were then reminded of We Stitch These Wounds days as Perfect Weapon was played to such perfection. Next was the song that I've always wanted to hear them play live let alone witness which was, the lead single off Set the World on Fire Fallen Angels. You could actually feel the vibrations in the floor from the entire crowd singing along and jumping. I for one bucked the trend of singing Andy's vocals and sung Ashley's and Jinxx's instead. I even have my favourite picture of Jinxx and Jake leaning onto one another whilst playing their solos in this song. The grand finale was marked by In The End from Wretched and Divine whilst during the final choruses the white confetti was released and went down my top right in front of Ashley in the third row. Haha he's such a Purdy Pervert ;D During their goodbyes I really wanted MORE but they had to fly back to America the next day so, I had to accept that I wasn't going to get more of a perfect night than seeing my IDOLS play.
