this was my first Chicane gig, despite having been a fan for years. Heaven is a great venue for dance acts, intimate and friendly.

The set was a mix of classix and some new (to me anyway) material. Poppiholla was sublime.

Good mix of guest vocalists, especially the male singer (whose name I didn't catch) who really brought the set alive - more of him next time please!

Excellent venue for a more intimate gig. Chicane came on just after 2130 and played for 55 mins before announcing the last song. Inevitable they would come on for another 25 mins. Just about getting 90mins worth of Chicanes fantastic anthems ending with "stoned in love". Little disappointed that it was over so quick. Good vibe throughout the fans with plenty of hand waving, jumping and generally getting stuck into enjoying every tune. Vocalist tended to like the sound of her own voice by continually talking to the crowd to take as all to "heaven"! Think I was there a couple of times but more the drink!

I've always loved Chicane from the early days and this was the first time seeing them live. I didnt know what to expect from song choice, especially as the new album 'Thousand Mile Stare', was released the same week as the gig. The evening didnt disappoint - great opening set from the trance DJ which set the mood, awesome venue with a good atmosphere. Chicane came on earlier than expected and played a good 2 hour set with a number of guests taking to stage throughout the night. Where did the Icelandic jumpers come from?? Cracked me up !! The new material was welcome and obviously trying to distance from the Saltwater days!! Love the new album; watch 'Going Deep' that's gotta be played!! Overall, an excellent evening for just £16 too!!

This was my first Chicane concert and went with a big Chicane fan. Music was awesome and I was able to take a photo of my friend with Nick after the show :)

I've loved chicane for the longest time and it's the first time I've managed to see them live. I really thought it would've been a catalogue of album goodies but there were only a few of these and it was more of a DJ set which was good but I would've preferred to hear more from the album songs.
The girl they had singing constantly telling everyone to get louder and enjoy themselves was (personally) just in the way, she should have sung and left it at that.
But It was good they had the band there and overall it was good. I was just expecting 'Amazing'
Venue however, was awesome! love the KOKO club.

I'd never seen Chicane before & i am not usualy a dancer but i had to throw my inhibitions to the wind just for one night.A really fun night with the band bantering with the audience & not taking themselves too seriously.It added to the atmosphere being in the smallest of the Academy venues.A lot of people of my age group mid 30's just out for some fun & an enjoyable night had by all as far as i could tell.

despite loving chicane for many years, i hadn't managed to see them live until this manchester gig. it was everything i expected and more. not only is nick an electronic wizard, sporting 7 keyboards, the drummer and guitarist are really tight too and add another dimension to the live sound. the vocalist was fantastic and managed to make some massive songs featuring the likes of tom jones and bryan adams sound like they were made for her. and she was incredibly foxy and engaging. i was really pleasantly surprised by the fun nature of the banter between the band and the audience - somehow i expected it to be ever so serious..... i didn't get to hear my favourite songs but i was more than happy with the banging mix of poppiholla and hiding all the stars.
thanks nick - you are truly amazing. please play glasgow next time and i won't have to travel so far :)

I was very disappointed as it was a club night instead of concert starting at 12 am instead of 21:00 hrs as stated on the site. It didn't say when we purchased the tickets and I feel this is a misrepresentation of the gig.
When I went last year it was a normal concert. I had to sell the tickets as I was not prepared for a clubnight and to stay out until 4 am the next day.

I was a big fan of recorded Chicane but this was my 1st time seeing them live. WOW....what a disappointment!!! First the support DJ who would never stop playing...... was cheesy...like something at a wedding only worse. On came Chicane very late with a very cheap show... the sound was poor... the lighting was a light board across the back with minimal effects. The music which I obviously came for was muffled, with a singer who tried in a Celine Dion style to whip up the crowd. Embarassing. I thought Chicane would be a bit more cool. Sorry Nick... I have been spoiled by the likes of Plasticman and Deadmau5. Their shows are amazing! We left after 3 songs. I have never left a show before the end. I don't want to play anymore Chicane at home now after this show.... I used to LOVE them! They don't work live... sorry.

Lead vocalist couldn't be heard over the live music as her vocals were not strong enough. Both my partner & I agreed that her vocals wasn't suited to the chicane music.

BEFORE THE CONCERT TWO DIFFERENT DJ WHO PLAYED FROM 9 UNTILL 12 THAT NIGHT. CHICANE ONLY STARTED AT 12, WHICH MEANS THAT WE WERENT SO ENTUSIASTIC LIKE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE NIGHT. THEY WERE GREAT THOUGH.

Fantastic show, the sound quality was amazing and the atmosphere was brilliant. The only complaint I would have is that the tickets said doors open at 21:00 but didn't say when the act started - we got in at 21:30 and Chicane weren't due on until midnight. I wasn't very impressed by that as once we were in we couldn't get out and we had to stay in there for 2.5 hrs paying an extortinate rate for drinks......if we had known we would have gone in later - but it was so amazing it made up for it!!

My overall thought on the event was dissapointing.
I felt they chicane came on to late. 12:10am. They didnt play for very long hour and ten minute (although I have heard that is there usual time). And they didnt play very many of there really well know tracks but decided to play hard house. Now dont get me wrong, the music was good, but not a Chicane concert. If i wanted to go listen to that music, i would go to Ministry or another club, but I didn't I went to Chicane. Unfortuanlty I wont be going again.

Chicane, a dance act, comes to the live stage with a twist...... Dance music played by a live band, with drums, bongos, sax, vocals and synth! Chicane live is worth going to see every time!

Energy pure ...good build up from DJs and then full on. didnt want to leave the floor to get a beer so a few bar staff wandering around taking orders would have made it 100%
