This was my 6 year old daughter's first panto and I must say that we all thoroughly enjoyed it... even her Dad who we literally had to drag along because panto is "not his thing". I caught him laughing several times and at one point I swear he was singing! We had front row seats and it was worth every penny.

The panto itself was quite funny, the characters were likeable, the dancers were good and the story was traditional. The music was good ... the singing was good ... but when the music and singing were on together you could only hear drums or keyboard and it actually made your ears fizz it was so loud. I have been to many pantos at the Tyne Theatre with my son and this is the only one he didnt enjoy :0(

What a fantastic show! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on Wednesday night at the panto even though the auditorium wasn't even quarter full. All the cast were great especially Sir John( Steve Wraith) and Norman Numpty(Charlie Richmond). We had front row seats so we all got some banter from them but that's all part of it anyway, we just loved it - well done everyone involved!!

The theatre was almost empty which was a shame but it certainly didn't detract from the performance. I went with four school friends and we are all in our 60's but we all agreed it was the best night out we'd had for a long time. The panto was hilarious and very well delivered with the cast playing to the small audience in the same way as if the theatre was full. The whole performance had us crying with laughter even though some of the jokes were as old as us. The scenery and costumes were amazing and the whole production was very entertaining. Will certainly book our seats for next year. Definitely worth the money.

We had our 3 year old Grandson over from Singapore and this was his first experience of English Theatre although I am not sure if he fully understood what was going on he enjoyed it immensely Steve Wraith who played the Sheriff of Nottingham was tremendous so evil yet so funny
Although not as lavish as Pantos I have seen at the Theatre Royal you couldn't fault the performances by all the cast as what they provided was a good honest to goodness memorable night out so Thank you everybody

Went to see show with 3 other adults and two children . From the eldest ( 50 something!) to the youngest (8) we all laughed out loud and thought the show was very well done( as they always are!). Would definately recommend the panto to everyone..great live music and singing. well done to all involved.

A real family pantomime. The jokes were up to date and locally directed. The whole thing was geared towards entertaining the whole audience: children and adults. There was no vulgarity - just good clean fun! The whole cast seemed intent on entertaining the audiencea.ce - there was no massaging of their own egos or "in joking" amongst themselves, which I have found at other venues where the audience has no idea what is meant to be funny.
The music was live and along with the choreography was stunning. A lovely day out for our family. The characters are great and the 12 days of Xmas number at the end never fails to please.
Highly recommended.

This is panto as it should be. Singing, dancing, hissing and booing. Great cast lead by Maxie as the perfect Dame. It really set the scene for Christmas. Special praise to Steve Wraith as the villainous Sheriff of Nottingham who clearly loved his part, whipping the audience into a frenzy and Charlie Richmond as Numpty the village idiot who was delightfully dippy and excellent with the children who came on stage.

I had book my seats thinking I was in the stalls row b naturally thinking this was the second row to our surprise the seating started at Row B so we had front row seats amazing the show was fantastic and a lot of effort was made to get audience participation from singing along to boos and oh yes he is behind you the typical pantomime experience the acting was great it was funny and enchanting my 5 year old daughter was also selected to go on stage to dance with 3 others and Numpty they all got a goodie bag for participation I would recommend this to any one the singing was live the whole performance was alive well done to all the cast and crew be back next year

Brendan Healy's humour is perfect for a real family panto - good fun, lots of laughs and audience participation. We've been coming for all the years Brendan has written and performed and would go to no other panto. My children are adults now but I still get 5 tickets for family and friends and Christmas wouldn't be the same without going on 23rd every year!!! Long may it continue!!
