Hilarious! I'd advise ladies not to wear eye make-up, I resembled Alice Cooper by the end of the evening. The 'straight stuff' was marvelous too, we especially enjoyed 'Shiver Me Timbers'. I've heard their music and seen them on T.V but, the live experience was something else! I have, and will continue to recommend both the band and the venue to anyone who wants to listen, and even those who don't, for that matter.
Long may they continue, looking forward to the Platinum anniversar

What struck me most about the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain was that not only did they exhibit genuine music talent, but also genuine comedic ability, to the extent that there was just as much applause (and laughter) at their jokes and general funniness as there was at their music. This is not to belittle the music, because that was brilliant too.

Watched them at the Opera House in York, really enjoyed. Brilliant musicians and well entertaining. Would recommend anyone to go and see them for a good night's entertainment.

The Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain are consummate musicians and great comedians. Expect lovely instrumentation, very good singing voices and excellent comedy value. Real feel good factor act. Excellent.

Utterly mind blowing, combining the genius of musicians with that of songwriters and all blended together with a glue of comedy. Not only can they play and sing (not Pavarottis but hey they can sell the songs!) but also the comedy asides tells you they are utterly at home performing, enjoying the moment and this transfers to the audience who become mesmerised!! As Shakespeare wrote, anyone abed on this day missed the experience of a lifetime and should kick themselves!

All members were on top form ,it was a great night wuthering heights brought the house down on the third encore ,when you leave a uogb concert you only see happy faces and hear people humming the tunes

These people are just out of this world. I never knew so much skill went into playing a ukelele, or that there are so many different kinds of ukeleles! And the comedy was just brilliant, everything is a parody of everything else. I've ordered a CD..........

It is rare to attend a musical evening where you sit and grin from the word go. The diverse players of the Ukulele orchestra are gifted musicians and singers who genuinely entertain for over 2 hours with music, humour and enormous talent. Not to be missed.

The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain gave us a wonderful evening's entertainment at York last night. Their musicianship was incredible and their humour infections. The smile never left my face all evening. That's when I wasn't laughing fit to burst. The only minor criticism is that the programme could have done with a bit more classical music to show off just what excellent musicians they all are and to give a bit more balance to the programme,

My only previous knowledge of UOGB was gleaned through you-tube. I quite liked what I had seen, but after watching them in concert I have to say I am now a total convert. If you like your music to have a sense of humour rather than taking itself too seriously then I recommend you get to see them as soon as you can get a ticket (most of their gigs are SOLD OUT). There is something wonderful about a group of people in evening dress playing what they themselves describe as a 'poxy little instrument' taking on a repertoire that would appear to be unplayable on a ukulele and playing it with consummate skill and self-deprecating humour. I went out and bought a ukulele today!

A superb combination of musical mastery, originality and comedy. Time passed too quickly.
Every member of the orchestra has a special featured performance and these were brilliantly contrasted and mixed. But as well as the excruciating puns, the disrespectful satire and individual verbal and visual jokes, there were more thoughtful moments and moods, such as the poignant adaptation of 'America' from West Side Story. My favourite numbers included the multiple simultaneous songs - virtuoso stuff! - the one dedicated to teenage ukelele players and the hilarious encore 'Wuthering Heights'. Unmissable event - no wonder the theatre was filled to capacity. No-one who has ever attended one of their concerts would want to be out of town when The Ukelele Orchestra ride in!
