Upon arrival at Sunderland |Empire was informed had been upgraded to a better seat , unlikely as tickets were same price all through , the show had obviously not had enough sales therefore they closed the upper circle!"!

This show has real potential , lads gave it 100%

Good voices , energetic dance routines, band were good and their participation in the dance moves was comical.. not sure if it was meant to be or not!!

No special effects/ lighting etc...so therefore it was a tribute band

some interaction with audience , the banter was good should have had more

Not as good as the ticket price would suggest, the singers were quite average not the best singers I have heard, but there energy made up for that, it was advertised as audience interaction but when we tried to intereact, i.e, singing along, dancing in the aisles, we were told to sit down by members of staff, we had gone out as a family group as my sister was over on hoilday from australia, she had seen this on the website before she came and suggested we try it, as she had seen the four tops and the tempations in australia, I know that is totally different but she was so disappointed with the show, but dispite that we did have a good night, but that is because we made it a good night, not because of the show, unfortunately. I feel the ticket price should have been more like £10 we think that would have been suffient for the show that was put on and quite possibly the theatre would have been filled, as it was there were lots of empty seats.

It was a reasonable show but it did not meet our expectations. The lads worked hard and danced well with some lively choreography, but some of the singing was below par.

The dance routines of the original Tamla Motown stars were always very slick and these performers were unable to match the precision of the Four Tops of yesteryear. There was only one female singer, which meant that much was lost in the rendition of the classics of the Supremes etc. The girl herself wiggled well, but her voice was too piercing and more like shouting than singing. Quantity rather than quality.

The backing group were OK but lacked sparkle and appeared bored with their work. They neeed some interaction with the performers.

The entire evening was total entertainment from start to finish. Amazing vocals and harmonies from the guys and some funky dance moves too!! The band joined in pushing their own shapes out as well - the whole evening was good fun with audience participation encouraged from the start. Highly recommended!!

I was so dissapointed it was the worst show i had seen at the Sunderland Empire I couldn't wait till it was finished the band were poor and the group were really dissapointing. I would not recommed this show to my friends, I have seen better on holiday with tribute groups.

Poor presentation, obviously done on a shoestring. The act consisted of 5 Guys only 1 of whom could sing and one girl who couldn't. They compensated by ramping up the volume and screaching.
Couldn't take the full show bailed out at the interval.

DON'T GO!!!

We were at the Playhouse on Saturday and after reading the reviews from the Liverpool night were expecting everyone to be up dancing and singing along...especially as it was a Saturday night!
But instead most folk at the Playhouse just sat in there seats most of the night.
Well we had a Good night.

Band had no idea what the sound of Motown is. The two female singers were no better than pub class. The four males were average at best. I expected the music to be solely Motown, not the hotchpotch that was presented. Overall a very poor show that was not value for money.

The good news first; the musicians were very good. Unfortunatley the rest is all bad news. The show felt like it was being run a on a tight budget and lacked any feeling of quality. The female vovalists were OK but there were only 2 of them and only one could possiblybe seen as motownish. The male group, How Sweet It Is, gave a very patchy performance. They did justice to a few songs but many others were pretty dire. They appeared to have an opinion of themselves that far exceeded their vocal capabilities. Overall, very disappointing and not one I could recommend.

Must be the worst.
We assumed it was the sound system at first but the tall lady came through loud and clear. I lived through Motown and it sounded 100 times better than this concert.

The only good thing of the night was the wee mouse scaring the ladies. He was a great entertainer

This was a birthday present for my mum and it was a bit disappointing, she said the singing was not good at all and also to top it all there was a mouse running around the floor in the theatre which was causing a lot of disruption and my mum couldn't settle. Wouldn't recommend this show to anyone.

we were very disappointed with this show.The male singers were not the best we felt their voices were not strong enough or good enough to do justice to the lovely motown songs.We didnt feel the show was very professional.
I had previously been to a Motown show which was fabulous,that is why I treated my sister to this show .I presumed It was the same show I had seen before.Sadly it did not compare.

Very disappointed.
Left half way through....no spark or imagination in presentation.
Unfortunately 2nd rate band in my opinion....lead guitar held them together.
1 out of 6 Singers great, rest mediocre...

This show was awful. The backing band was worse than any I have ever seen. The four boy line up couldn't sing or dance and the two women were shockingly bad.
It was the standard of a school show. Not professional or slick.
Save your money for a real Motown show..The Drifters etc.

The songs brought back so many memories of taping stuff off the radio onto blank cassettes as a kid!

Very glitzy, very catchy, great moves and great voices. They didn't do a lot of chat, they kept the pace of the show going and packed in loads of tunes. Well worth seeing.
