Gervase Phinn's live events are probably best described as a combination of comedy, storytelling and motivational speaking. Drawing on his colourful career as a teacher and school inspector, he shares anecdotes and wisdom; cheering and inspiring in equal measure. It comes as no surprise, perhaps, that many teachers are always to be found in his audiences. However, his appeal is universal. I once watched one of his DVDs with my husband, my grandma and both my parents, and all three generations thoroughly enjoyed it.
Gervase is a born storyteller and never fails to draw the audience in with his gentle, often self-deprecating humour and obvious passion for his life's work. Join him for a lovely and genuinely heartwarming evening of entertainment this festive season.

from the start of the show until the finish i never stopped laughing, was afraid that the lady next to me was going to have an accident in her seat she was laughing and struggling to breath at the same time.

Gervase was extremely entertaining from start to finish. Having read his books I was interested to see the man himself telling the stories of his time in schools and of his own life. I was not disappointed. There was so much laughter, but he touched on some serious points too. Apart from a short interval he stood on the stage talking. He came across as very genuine and this was confirmed after the show when Gervase went into the foyer and made time to meet people and sign his autograph. What a lovely man. A brilliant night out.

This is a superb show that is humorous, life affirming and a fascinating insight into the life of a school inspector. Gervaise Phinn is a natural raconteur and can make people of every age laugh until they cry. He told many stories of life in the dales and unerneath this were some important points about the opportunities and chances that we must give every child. We loved the show and have recommended it to our family and friends. If you haven't seen this get a ticket as soon as possible.
We are so glad we booked to see this show and were sad we had to get to our transport so couldn't stay afterwards to talk with Gervaise Phinn. The best one man show we have seen in years.

Had a great evening even though many in the audience failed to attend due to rotten weather. Being a retired teacher (like so many in the audience) what he says is so true - it brings a tear to the eye and a laugh inyour heart!

Wonderful performance by a very entertaining man. Gervase Phinn was lucky to have a loving family that has enriched his life and given him the comapssion and humour to enjoy his chosen career. I never though the life of a school inspector could be so colourful. Thankfully he decided to share his experiences with us. Definately worth seeing, will be at his christmas show in Newcastle.
