....before they only pack in the huge arenas.
What made it special was the venue. You won't often see musicians so intimately. Intimidating for bands and audiences alike, eek. I only stood a few steps from the stage and any closer, would be able to join them. You can't get more personal than that. Wonderful for people who don't do spaces fit for an army.
Crowd was lively, no one jostled about for position. Very adult about it all, i must say. We could all see the stage clearly (even shorter peeps like me), imbibe a little drink (prices very reasonable, a bargain actually) and enjoy the show. No one was left standing, the music is very infectious. You may arrive a bit moody from a bad day, a bit lethargic from work and traversing the dirty tube, a bit poorly from the seasonal blues, a bit upset the friend missed the event, but you'll leave on a high note. Simply put, they're a shot of sensory caffeine.
What a fun night. Overlook the fact the 100 Club could do with some upkeep, if only more bands would play small venues.....
Thanks for a stellar night you guys, you're all so terribly talented. (I'm gushing, it's embarrassing).
Would love to hire them for an event, but that's insulting to their starry future. Please take it as a compliment though... I have an inkling they're set for pretty, damned big things.
Must must must catch them live again before they insist on only playing the forgettable huge arenas - may as well watch YouTube.
