After years of following Alter Bridge and Creed, it was great to hear that Mark Tremonti was doing a solo album (without leaving the aforementioned bands) and leaning towards his more Heavy/Thrash Metal roots.
The album was a treat; blending his more aggressive style of riffing and soloing with his already successful song-writing.
Opening act Logan were a great surprise. As soon as they started, my GF and I were hooked and have since got a few of their albums ( I even had the chance to meet the rhythm Guitarist to says thanks for a great set).
Second act Heaven's Basement were good but did not catch my attention that much.
Head-liners Tremonti blew me away. Mark showed his guitar skills in full throttle as well as maintain great lead vocals throughout the set. Second Guitarist Eric Friedman was a great counterpart for Mark; adding his blend of Bluesy-Rock soloing and intense rhythm playing. The rhythm section of Garrett Whitlock on Drums and Wolfgang Van Halen locked in incredibly well driving the overall sound, showing their mastery of their instruments.
Overall, the whole night was a great experience, especially as we got the chance to meet the band after the show, got our memorabilia signed and have a brief chat with each of them.
Looking forward to a second album and another chance to see them live.
