It was difficult to know Tawe Fest was even on- no signs about town, the taxi driver didn't know it was on...it was all a bit confusing how a three day festival could be so unknown! This was even more true when I got into the festival. I stood in a queue for ages with my ticket in hand only to be told at the gate I had to go to a miniture port-a-cabin to get a wrist band first. The portacabin only had signs on it to pay for tickets: not to collect wristbands. I then had to go back to the end of the queue and start again. I had paid extra to be a VIP...this wasn't going well. You might assume that as a VIP the 'seated' area would be at the front of the stage on a nice non muddy area but no the VIP area was about 20 metres from the stage to the left- the views were rubbish! I gave up on that and joined everyone else- around 25 people! This was not the kind of festival I expected. Food as usual was overpriced and miles from the stage. There was one ride. This could have been so much more! That said the bands were really public friendly apart from the random Ukrainian act! Glad I got to see Steps, Loveable Rogues, Alexandra Burke and The Risk. Discovered the amazing Karl Morgan and the Clicks! The bands saved the day!
