I have always been a big fan of South Park and when I heard the hype about this show (especially all the praise on Twitter from celebrity endorsements), I was really looking forward to it. After purchasing the tickets 3 months in advance and waiting eagerly everyday, the day came and I found the jokes funny in South Park style, and the show very witty but it does not deserve all the hype.

This musical is simply one of the best shows I have ever seen. Hilarious and heartfelt at the same time downright filthy in places. The songs are up there with the best of them and very memorable. Thank God for a clever adult musical for once. This should run for years. Jared Gertner is an absolute pleasure to watch as Elder Cunningham and the rest of the cast are fantastic. You have to see this show!

A must see - this musical has catchy music with the sort of shocking humour that clears the cobwebs and leave you with a permanent smile on your face ;)

The Book of Mormon was hilarious! Loved every minute of it, you will go away with the amazing songs stuck your head. An absolute must see however I will say do not go and see if you are easily offended or don't like swearing.

Difficult for any show to live up to the hype that this has had but BOM really didn't. Not to say I didn't laugh raucously at points but it is sledge hammer humour, with some truly awful accents trying to be a lot cleaver than it is. Probably really funny if you are stoned or 14, a bit like South Park, but otherwise not that great,

This was excellent

I took my 74 yr old mother to the matinee and was a little concerned as I had read the reviews about the racy language used but it made no odds to the great enjoyment we had, leaving the theatre still laughing.

We both commented on how well written it is and that the actors were just superb, with wonderful singing and great choreography - the whole (sold out) audience was buzzing and gave the cast a well deserved standing ovation at the end. Well done Parker/Stone - what a worthwhile way to spend your afternoon off! I'm still laughing.

Absolutely fantastic.Brilliant singing,dancing and acting.We went as a mixed group from 18yrs to 80 yrs and we all laughed from beginning to end.Wonderful feel good show,would recommend to anyone.

Moroni, how I loved this show. It wasn't at all what I was expecting - the swearing and jokes about religion, FGM and AIDS, for sure. But it was also really warm and in some ways really sweet. Not one to take your granny to, but not just for South Park fans either. Don't forget to buy a plushie frog on your way out.

The Book of Mormon is a work of genius - I had tears in my eyes on several occasions through laughing so hard. I was especially surprised at how moving it was - adverts such as "offensive, brash and immensely funny" are justified, but I didn't think it was that offensive - all the sensitive issues (of which there are quite a few) are dealt with in context and bring to light many taboo/unknown subjects. That so much of the show is based on real world issues such as General Butt-F***ing-Naked being based on the Liberian War Lord of the 1990s makes the show particularly interesting as well as comedic genius. If you like Team America/South Park, you'll love this show and even if you're not, unless you're particularly offended by a few C-bombs, you'll probably love it too!

What a fun show!! It's crude and distasteful - like South Park - but as long as you are okay with that and not offended, it is hilarious. My husband and I laughed so much, his cheeks hurt when leaving the theater. The acting, singing, and dancing were all fabulous. I still can't get over how good it was. Certainly lived up to the all star reviews - not an easy feat.

The show met all my expectations and in other ways exceeded them. The choreography, acting and set design were brilliant throughout the entire show. Highly recommended.

I'd read reviews on the Book of Mormon and my husband and I are avid South Park fans so we knew there would be a lot of potentially offensive material in it. This didn't put us off and I'm so glad it didn't, we were in stitches right from the word go alternating between our jaws dropping at their audacity and our jaws hurting from laughing. The performance flew by - always a sign of a good play! - the cast were so talented and expressive and we enjoyed every minute of it. Special mention must go to the music, the songs were amazing and you couldn't help yourself but jig along. If you don't like swearing I wouldn't recommend this. If you are religious I would say you have to have broad shoulders but, curiously, this didn't put me off learning about Mormonism and I'm actually thinking of reading the book - something the Mormon movement have embraced (I'm impressed with how they have handled this actually). If you've seen South Park you can imagine the level of offense they reach but the actual storyline comes to a sweet and non-mickey-taking conclusion.

If you like the irreverent humour and songs of South Park and Team America World Police then you will just love this!. Brilliant musically with very clever and catchy tunes. Some very strong language at times but all done in context so it works well. Wonderful and brutal observation of some absurdities in the concept of this religious group and of life in Africa. Get a ticket, go and see it!

Was brilliant, havent laughed so hard at a west end theatre in my life. Although satirical and very rude the acting and singing was top notch. I was expecting that to have suffered in exchange for shock factor but hadn't
Wouldnt recommend to everyone purely for sensitivity reasons. This is an extreamly offensive play (which i loved) but isnt for everyone. If you you thought Jerry Springer the Opera was offensive you wont stomach this.
But if you love frankie boyle humour, and arent offended by jokes then this is the play to see. If i could i would gladly go again!
