Went to see Paul Zerdin in Felixstowe on Friday night. The show was very enjoyable and his skill with ventriloquism is amazing. The best part of the show, in my opinion, was with the couple of "volunteers" from the audience, which is a very similar sketch to that on his YouTube clip. Very funny.
However, my one big criticism would be with the supporting act. Sadly I did not feel that the quality of the act was of the same high standard as Paul Zerdin and he deserves better. In fact, I do not feel he needs a supporting act at all. Their act was based on mime around popular song titles and while very cleverly put together was childhish and akin to The Chuckle Brothers. Some parts I found unpleasant, i.e. dropped trousers and skimpy underpants, and one of the pair's inability to control the amount of saliva he produces. Cheap and tacky.
Get rid of the supporting act, Paul, you were fantastic and they cheapen your show.
