Favourite moment: Thom Green's drumming was brilliant throughout, but particularly during Breezeblocks which brought the song to life and got the crowd moving. @

Alt-J put on a great spectacle at the O2 Academy on this the first UK date of their latest tour. Presenting song after song from their debut album 'An Awesome Wave' with a quiet confidence and sounding on par with the studio versions, they gave off the impression of a band who have been touring big venues for years. While frontman Joe Newman gave a faultless vocal performance, he appeared reluctant to interact with the crowd between songs, leaving that duty to Gus on keyboard. There were few surprises to be found here, though two cover versions found even a Kylie Minogue song being given the Alt-J treatment.
All in all a great experience, and a promising start for the genre-bending rockers.
