I went specially to Birmingham for the BMX and although it was not as exciting as I imagined, I still really enjoyed the experience. Well worth it, especially if you are do not need to travel.
The only slight annoyance was they handed out Boom Boom or clap sticks. I had a girl behind me who banged them together, and off my head, for five hours straight. I had a throbbing headache. Her father was useless.

First time but certainly not the last that BMX witnessed first hand. Took my lad and grandson thinking they hopefully would enjoy the day out. They did but not half as much as me. I'm 61 but thought I was 16 at the event. Couldn't believe the number of races and thrills and equally the number of spills - not for the fainthearted.
A great day out and no doubt the evening session would have been even better, I'll know next time.
