A real festival atmosphere in a tiny venue from one of the great unsung live music acts on the circuit. These guys were serious musicians with a sense of fun and I'm so glad they came to Cardiff.
The Gypsy jazz/ folk label doesn't really help explain the party mood they generated. Hayseed Dixie meets the Pogues is maybe one way to try and describe them, but it is infectious, catchy and even the cover versions are made to sound like they are Mad Dog's own, better than the originals.
A great night out.

MDMcR excellent set,they really know how to throw a party.A very professional performance,flawlessly blending traditional folk music with contemporary numbers and throwing in a classic piece of PCO.Anyone who enjoys music played by people who enjoy music should see this band.
Cosmo Jarvis ,what is he? writer ,poet ,musician,composer,actor,director,He,s 23 and has achieved all of those titles,He performed all of his own works with drum and base line up,Really tight and disciplined performance,the sort of band that make it look easy....Check out his catalogue,this guy is really special

saw mad dog twice over in the isle of wight. fantastic night out and great atmosphere.

These guys are brilliant for a really good night out - its impossible not to get up and dance. Possibly the best gypsy jazz/ folk band around at the moment - forget Bellowhead or Seth Lakeman. Key to it all - they love what they do and they are all superb musicians.
