Several of the principle dancers were phenomenal and their respective solo/ duo scenes were captivating. However, personally for me, the start of the performance gave me the impression that some far less superior talent had been recruited from local dancing schools to make up numbers?! Didn't realise that I would be arriving home so early though, but that's my fault for not knowing that the Nutcracker is a short ballet; so at £22.50 a seat, for 2 hrs including the interval, maybe that's why the audience was rather sparse?!! Nevertheless, a pleasant evening.

What an utter disappointment!
We went, as a family, expecting a top class ballet production with orchestra, beautiful ballet and choreography.
There was no orchestra. In its place was a poor sound system and to our utter astonishment, only the left speaker system was working.
The standard of ballet was ok considering it was a youth ballet but this should have been mentioned in the advertising.
A dreadful evening and a complete waste of money. I felt like we had been robbed and will not go to see anything in Blackpool again. I shall pay extra to travel to London.

The whole show was magic, the dancers were superb. Just a shame that the theatre was only 1/3 full. Right show wrong location .

Disappointed as music was via CD it took away the atmosphere that a live orchestra would have provided. The dancing was a little disjointed and lacked continuity.

Vienna Festival Ballet's performance of the Nutcracker was outstanding, the choreography, costumes, lighting, and above all the whole company exuded professionalism and ultimate expertise in a magnificent performance. Particular compliment to leads Melanie Cox and Richard Hackett, truly insparational.

was disappointed with production, company was very small, scenery was lacking. Although dancers performed well, but seemed rather lost in the big stage. This could reflect on the lack of audience. Large stage, lack of audience did not do anything for ambience.

to be honest I was disappointed, first of all the background was shabby and very poor then when the dancing started I may have expected too much but it would have been nice if the dancers all danced together! not only where they not in time with each other but their arms were placed in different ways too??? I dont think of myself to be a professional of dance but I know enough to know it was hardly an average performance!
please make your own mind up this is just my opinion but me thinks id better stick to going to the bolshoi!

I have seen better ballet companies but on the whole I thought this was well produced and well danced most of the time.Synchronisation sometimes left a little to be desired.I had expected a live orchestra which makes all the difference to the atmosphere.
The venue needs a coat of paint sprucing up in general and some new light bullbs.No one upstairs with programmes and ice cream arrived upstairs very late at the interval.No sweets of any description.
Why, with so many seats empty and it being half term were the schools not invied in at a reasonable price.??
A real opportunity missed to widen the viewing to thwe general public.
