Great show for the family although screens and viewing experience could be developed more for children. Signs to the event could have been better prepared. Not too bad for getting to the park (although it appeared the map road names were a little wrong?) but hen down to the entrance was not clearly marked - got to the bottom of the hill and it was not clear at all whether to walk left or right to the entrance. Important for people who cannot walk well and for small children

Event on the whole was brilliant, however the sound system was shockingly bad - no one could hear any of the commentary so trying to keep up with what was going on was rather difficult.

Favourite moment: The first entrant Mr Whippy, one of the only craft with a genuine attempt to fly. We also enjoyed the Red Bull stunt plane event. @

I think it's great that Red Bull offer a fair selection policy for this free event. In times of financial constraint it was excellent to be able to attend such a unique and fun filled event as a family.
I have no complaints about the balloting policy, the timeframes re notification, the venue, the venue facilities or the staff.
However, the idea of the event is to create 'flying' craft, yet a significant amount of entrants seemed to have made no attempt to produce a craft remotely capable of flying. I feel that the points system should be reviewed and amended so that flight distance carries a greater point weighting. By mid afternoon it became quite tedious watching teams 'perform' and simply jump off the edge of the platform. Our youngest son at one point stated "Daddy that one won't fly either, it will just fall off the edge like all the others" and I feel that sums up the day.
The constant chit chat from JK and Joel slowed the event down and became tedious and at one point I was hoping they would both fall in so we could get on with the event in a more timely manner.
The on site catering facilities were charging grossly inflated prices, dearer than mainstream festivals which was very disappointing at a family orientated event.

The lousy weather could not spoil the amazing experience that was Flugtag. The flying machines were fab, as were the contestants costumes especially Toy Story who made my 6yr old's day.
Red Bull certainly know how to put on an event , free face painting, banner making and t-shirt designing was enjoyed by kid's of all ages. The Red Bull air display team were awesome and the invisible kite display team ! well priceless!!
All in all a fab day was had by all and we felt very lucky to have got tickets.
Thankyou , please come back to England again.

After what was biiled to be a great fun filled day I was left very disappointed by the organisation of the event. The 'runway' was totally in the wrong place. My partner, who is 9mths pregnant, was unable to stand at the front with the crowds for 5 hours and had to sit down on the hill for most of the event. Unfortunately for us and the hundreds of people who were on the hill we couldn't see a thing. The runway was put behind a huge tree and in front of that was a giant TV screen which very rarely worked. There were plenty of places around the lake that would have been more suitable to place the runway so that everybody could see what was happening. But for some reason these places were overlooked. To rub more salt into the wounds the best place to watch the event was on the other side of the lake (opposite the runway). Granted, this was outside of the ticketed area and those people couldn't take part in the other things that were happening. But it still offered some of the best seats in the house.

This is the first time the Red Bull Flugtag has been held in Leeds and I thought the venue was brilliant. There were many places to get a good view of the mad pilots and plenty of screens to watch the event. A very well organised event with plenty of toilets and refreshments. Everything was well signposted and the atmosphere was relaxed.

Sorry to say not what we thought for a fun day out.The presenters very dull and ad-lib with the PA system not strong enough.All credit to those who built the flying machines but really just jumping off a platform for there own amusement

Managed to get to the front although discovered this wasn't necessarily the best place to be. Couldn't understand what was being said and could not see the big screens, could have done with another to be honest. The stunt planes were amazing though!
Had two young kids with us (age 6 and 7) and they were getting bored as were we, with long gaps in between "planes" with no reasoning.
Overall, wasn't a bad day but could have been better

weather didn,t help, but didn,t think the event was well organised for spectators and the 2 two presenters weren,t very good, a poor day had by all family and children were bored

I thought Flugtag was a great day out, I had lot's of fun watching the flying machines. Especially when the guy on Yorkshire pudding machine did a faceplant! That was funny :)
The weather was really bad but that didn't stop me from going to watch, I wasn't going to miss it! Definitely would go again!

Flugtag at Roundhay Park, Leeds, truly AWESOME.
Althought the weather was slightly damp the atmosphere more than made up for this. The presentation and organisation of the event was superb. The crowd was buzzing and the competitors were out of this world.
I would recommend anyone, if they get chance, to get to a Flugtag. It's a memorable event and something I haven't stopped talking about for days.
Remember, if you can't beat them, join them!

Redbull flugtag was amazing me and my four friends had a great day we didn't even want it to end. I would recommend the Redbull flug tag to anyone and everyone..who ever didn't get tickets you missed out people. Loved it and will be applying for more tickets to other events with red bull :)
