Had a fantastic day out watching Team GB and other top nations play in the Olympic Basketball Arena before the Olympic Park was completed! Excellent arena for basketball, it's just a shame it's only temporary and will be taken down after the Olympics. An excellent show was put on by the players and entertainers.

The whole experience was really great. ALL the volunteers were AMAZING right from the guys who directed us from Stratford to those who took tickets and supported at the venue. I am really impressed and excited by their cheerfull, helpfull, and friendly volunteers, it made me really excited about the Olympics.
The basketball was really exciting and the between games entertainment was fabulous.

Three (small) criticisms -
1. The announcer was very difficult to hear and understand.
2. The venue was really cold - (I do not get cold often! I am more often than not very hot at venues!) - the air conditioning was very high and it felt rather cold.
3. There were not enough food outlets and therefor big ques!
Otherwise the event was fantastic. Beautifully organised and a joy.

The event was enjoyable and would have been even better if the sound system had been audible. The commentator was far too loud -- his voice was unclear and he sounded over the top and as if he was screeching.
The arena itself was very well designed -- views were good. And the volunteers were helpful.

Actual basketball was fantastic, arena was not as good as expected, uncomfortable seats, bad layout & design and facilities - food & merchandise etc - were sub standard, food and drink extremely high in price .
Overall the arena was a dissapointment and not what I would expect for an olympic venue, luckily the Basketball finals are being staged at the O2 arena!!

Too much queueing - to get into the village and then waiting for the door to open. The stewards were upbeat and helpful and the venue was clean and functional. However the tannoy system was appalling and we were unable to understand anything the commentator said throughout the event.
The bus we went on had a broken grip pole which was dangerous in view of the number of people on the bus and the journey which had several twists and turns. Also the buses did not leave for the staduim and exit until it was full which for some meant quite a while sitting and waiting.
We were not advised in any pre-event information if there would be any refreshments available. There were 3 portable outlets outside the venue which offered food and drink at a competative price for the event. However one outlet ran out of food mid afternoon. It also meant queueing again for quite a time.

Really good example of how "London Prepares" for the 2012 Olympics. The venue for the Basketball was amazing and everything worked really well - so the organisers should be delighted. GB played in one of the matches and very narrowly lost to the Aussies - but will clearly have to step up their performance to have any chance in the real event next year.
Main negatives were the restricted catering facilities with very long queues quickly building up in the gaps between games - and when one did get to the head of the queue the prices were very high!! We recognise that there are limited requirements at this time for the catering facilities - but this does need to be thought about for next year.

Used public transport to get to Stratford and that was very fast and efficient.

Started off a little slow with Croatia V China and thankfully progressed to the masterpiece game with Australia V Great Britain. Excruciating to watch at times with GB struggling to get ahead of Australia and the score pretty much neck to neck throughout the match which even went to extra time. Spectators went completely crazy at times and the atmosphere was utterly incredible. Final score: Australia (81) Great Britian (80). Felt like had been watching GB at another World Cup final with the team falling at the final hurdle yet again. Pull your socks up GB and get things right for the 2012 Games.Great opportunity to see the Olympic Park in development. Vegetarians out there remember to bring a packed lunch for the 2012 Games as the catering at the stadium does not quite cater for you. But aside from this minor point, was great to get a feel of things to come for the London 2012 Olympic Games. The organisation of this event had been excellent.

The venue is fantastic but the acoustics were poor.

I've been obsessed with Olympic events since I was a young girl, so the relatively simple fact that I could attend a test event, at a Olympic venue, was a dream come true (I know, sounds quite childish, but it's true!)
I thought the event was very well organised, from the teams greeting us at the tube station, to others directing us to the venue, to the organisation of the buses.
The games were extremelly enjoyable, mainly because of the high calibre of the teams involved. For us it was actually a surprise that our tickets included all 3 games that evening, as I thought I had purchased tickets for a single game, so it was great to spend most of the day watching amazing players in the very nicely done basketball arena.
The arena itself is very nice, specially for a temporary structure. What I did find strange is the fact that some areas, such as the ladies' bathrooms, already look very worn out for something that has been recently been built. I wonder if they will be painted or redone next year, otherwise they will look seriously old and worn out in 2012.

The match between the Aussies and GB was really exciting. So close it went to overtime and the Aussies only won by1 point in the last seconds of the match. GB team was great and the atmosphere was electric. Only negative was thepoor PA system.

Venue was amazing, staff friendly and very helpful. Information boards where good and the entertainment in between games was very good.
The only problem I can complain about is that the sound system was very poor. I could not hear a word that was said, so I missed out on a lot. We had a good seat looking sideon to the basketball game on the second tier, but could not hear the commentary at all, so very disappointing in that respect. People in the same row also could not hear sound very muffled.
Food outside in the trailers was good quality, but no provision to sit anywhere so had to sit on the parmac on the ground.
First game a bit boring but second game was better. More competitive better game

Entertainment was great. Dancers ect. Game was brilliant. overall stadium amazing. Security staff very friendly. Transport in stadium worked well. Sound was dreadful could not hear as it was distorted compare was not clear could not hear a word he was saying. music played however not a problem. all vocal communication as a whole was lost shame really. Food was rediculously expensive.

An excellent sporting event. Great crowd participation, especially the support for the GB team. Interval entertainment was slick and interesting, real variety. Can't wait for the actual Olympic event.
Only downside was the sound quality, almost impossible to hear the announcer, sound quality for voice was incredibly and suprisingly poor. Shame that the test event didn't have a larger audience size as this may have made it more of a spectacle.

Basketball arena excellent and never having seen a game live it was so exciting especially when team GB played Australia we were all on our feet screaming and cheering in the final quarter. We went to see beach volleyball a few weeks ago and that was brill. The London Prepares series is great value and the venues and facilities at both sites were excellent.
