Although there was nothing wrong with the standard of the musicians who played, this event was a big let down as the band played such a short set after keeping us waiting for way too long. They compounded this disappointment by choosing to introduce the band members during their two main tunes which spoiled them completely.

Such a shame as I love this band and had really looked forward to seeing them.

The band were quite late coming on and the set was short. My favourite tracks not played. Not sure the band members connected. Overall good sound but a little disappointed.

We made a nearly 200 mile round trip to see them as a birthday treat for my better half. Well what a treat... apart from a decent version of hanging on a string the rest was very poor. Mistimed tunes, forgotton lyrics and the cheek of expecting the crowd to go go wild for an encore all featured in the 1 hour session. The only reason the crowd wanted an encore was to see if they could actually preform a single track from start to finish.. they spent more time introducing the group solos then preforming tracks.
Carl McIntosh and rest really need to have a pratice session before they venture out again...If they are doing a gig near you don't bother...unless it's free, and I would still be in two minds.

Truly dreadful. The worst concert we have ever been to which was a shame because they showed what they can do with the performance of "Hangin on a String". The concert started with a whimper and didn't improve a great deal from there. They kept complaining of "technical problems" and not being able to get the sound right. This started a series of aborted songs followed by laughter from Carl McIntosh. It was reminiscent of an amateur school concert. We were ready to leave after two poorly performed tracks. However, we stuck with it and only a slight improvement was noticed. Finally the sound seemed to be sorted and Hanging on a String was good - then they went off stage!!! A long encore with the sound sorted was surely on the way to make sure the crowd were treated to some decent music?!!!! No, the encore consisted of introducing the band with a few solos and then they left the stage again never to return. Total shambolic concert time 55 mins!!! Dear Mr McIntosh, if you ever grace a stage again have the decency to rehearse until the set AND the sound is spot on. It's what performance artists do to ensure their fans are rewarded with a great set.

I was disgusted by the awful performance and unprofessionalism of Carl and random others on stage who laughed, cut songs, had to restart songs because they went wrong, left the stage on numerous occassions, blamed technical faults and were just a complete and utter embarrassment. They performed like they never had practised in a studio or completed a sound check and they basically made a complete mockery of their fans who paid and attended. I would never attend a concert of theirs again despite being a massive fan of the original loose ends.

What a shame, track after track had to be restarted due to poor timing, Carl kept laughing about it but i didnt find if funny after the third attempt. What should have been a great show in a great venue turned out to be a stampede to the bar. Back up singers were great with a great female lead singer shame we didnt get the opportunity to see her on her own as she has great presence and energy. Support act wasnt bad either.

Opening act(s): Hannah Francis, an excellent performance considering she is new to the Jazz Cafe. She was excellent vocally and engaged with the audience well.
The four songs she performed was not enough. Definetly a star in the making. I will be watching out for her. @

Carl Mcintosh took it way back. He performed the his classic hits very well. The crowd responded well and even though there were technical issues he kept everyone in the mood and entertained.

This potentially was a fantastic night. The band was off the hook and jammed. The crowd were up for it and really joined in. The only reason why this was not a 5 star night was due to the technical hitches. The Jazz Cafe is known for quality but this was sadly let down on stage. The band had to keep asking for the sound levels to be adjusted, the mic stand was a nightmare and the keyboards literally felldown and so on and so on.

Also the food was very delayed and lacked your normal high quality.

I have bought tickets for the George Clinton and hope the Jazz Cafe returns to its high standards.

My friend and I enjoyed the Loose ends performance a lot!
However the technical problems at the Jazz Cafe completely spoiled the nice event.
The concert was first delayed and then shortened and the musicians were really disappointed.

Great to see and hear the Loose Ends thing again, after so many years. Pioneers of British Soul music, with their own kinda sound. In between the classics such as Slow Down, Mr Batchelor to name a few, was a tune that sampled the smooth groove from Herbie Hancock's Chameleon - sadly missed the name of it, but it sounded like a new one - loved it!.

One rather strange aspect to the performance though - Carl Mcintosh's rather frequent 'rewinds' - which meant up to 3 or 4 rewinds and restarts of a number of tunes. Quite amusing and entertaining to start with, but somewhat annoying when it kept on happening. Not sure if this was a case of OCD on the production, but would've been better of the sound check and warm up had happened earlier that day!

An encore ensured a great (one take) performance of Hangin' on a String.

Despite the rewinds, was great to hear that sound again, and still left with a big ole smile.

Great venue, friendly crowd, excellent support act but very dissapointing to watch a dismal performance from what should be a class act. They only played one tune all the way through as they kept stopping throughout each track. Dedicated fans still cheered for an encore and had to wait while Mr Douglas chatted up one of the audience. Very dissapointed.

Well the show was very disappointing, the sound was awful, the singers couldn't hear themselves, so the singing was out of tune, and made classic loose end tunes sound terrible, the loose ends sound system so was probably the highlight of the night, but didn't pay my money to listen to a sound system, possibly the worst mean fiddler production i have ever been too, if this is how things are going to be then I will re think about going to any concerts at Jazz Cafe, hopefully this is a one off
