I wouldn't say that I'm a huge wrestling fan, I watch it when I come across it on TV.
I first stumbled across this event when handed a flyer at the MCM Expo, after showing this to my friend we started talking about Rey Mysterio, Nacho Libre and Boritos. We decided to go at the last minute as we really wanted to just see something new, It was one of the best choices I've made.
The night was incredible, when arriving there I saw alot of die had fans there wearing luchador masks which I then noticed were on sale and the merch stand, so, of course we bought them which really put you into the lucha mood.
When I entered the venue they had a DJ playing playing mexican/americano music which was great then after that a band called Bostich & Fussible (Nortec Collective) who played conjunction of Norteño ("of" or "from the North") and Techno which was incredible!
Now onto the wrestling, host was hilarious, he added just the right amount of cheese to make it funny and exciting. I didn't realise how symbolic and spiritual these wrestlers are when they explain the meaning of their masks and outfits which came as a surprise.
The first couple of matches did seem a bit amateurish and took a while to get into but after that the big guns came out!!! Supernova vs Turbo was an amazing high flying match, moves I thought were only possible in the matrix. It only got better, I didn't realise how close I would get to the fighting when Supernova was launched into the seating area, crushing the seats beside me.
The next match was a tag team match which doubled the speed, agression and awesomeness of the match! The last and final match was a tornado tag which was completely mind blowing!!! There was soo much going on and so many fighters flying in the air! There is a loveable character called Cassandro who just completely stole the show, so you find yourself cheering and shouting for him and yelling at everyone else! The night was truely amazing, the only couple of things I would change were, Nachos and Dip to be served with tequila. If not that then I would liked to have seen more people attending, It was a shame to see alot of empty chairs as these incredible fighters deserve alot more attention and praise for the work they do. I really hope they find their fame and become huge.
I recommend everyone to see Lucha Future, I will be attending again when they are next in London.
