The Drizabone evening was really entertaining and the main act was extremely impressive and tight. Great atmosphere - everyone had a good time.
But what made it for us was the support band. It was a really low key acoustic set by a group of young musicians who deserve to go a very long way. Their ability to hold the audience was very impressive, particularly as their volume was so restrained. (Could have been turned up a bit to be honest).
Ava Leigh's voice is very seductive and strong and her command of the stage was very impressive. The guitarist looked so young but he held the whole thing together like glue, never faltering or losing either the rhythm or the harmonies. I think they said his name was Billy - watch out for that one! Terrific combination of ability and feeling. He and the drummer (also excellent) were constantly in touch and were reading every moment of the performance perfectly.
This was real musical synergy! As a group they were incredibly tight and disciplined and the performace was full of life and feeling. When can we see them again?
