The room was amazing, felt like a cosy, personal gig. Cee Lo Green however, just treated this gig like something that was expected for him to do, and not for the fans. His attitude was awful. The opening act (Ebony Bones I think) were... interesting. We were just hit with this body of noise and "on drugs" dancing. I loved the energy of the group, but feel they were just plain random, not much singing - just shouting and running around. After the band, Cee Lo's attitude kicked in: He kept us waiting over an hourr and a half for him to appear. His stupid roadies just kept coming on, testing the microphone, swearing at the crowd and just being useless. No explanation was given to his delay. People started chanting, and when he eventually came on he didn't appologize, just simply shouted "What's my f***ing name Birmingham?!?!" Actually mate, I can't remember, I've been waiting for so long. Opened up with Bright Lights Bigger City which was a great shout due to the amazing intro on that song. Slightly disappointed with the "band" - his album has an amazing backing band and I was hoping to see a full array of instruments. Instead we had girls, who were solely their for Cee Lo to ogle at, lazily strumming along and draping themselves over him. (I'll give her her due though, the drummer gave it her all) Even the backing vocals were just recorded. He did perform a good set - mixing in some Gnarls Barkley songs, and obviously ended on "F*** You" to an appreciative crowd. The best moment, however, was when he came on for his encore - he did an accoustic "It's OK". Sang this beautifully, and the girls finally showed their musical talent. Most of his songs were wonderful (top marks to Wildflower, Satisfied and Crybaby) however, due to his delayed entrance, he did only give us an hour of his time.
