We saw that Martin Shaw and Jenny Seagrove were in this play and thought it would be wonderful. It turned out to be quite disappointing with a very slow first half that nearly saw us leave and not stay for the second half. We did, and saw the better half as a result. There were some very good one liners, and decent acting, but the pace was just too slow.

The Country Girl play took me on a emotional, thought provoking journey, thanks to the brilliance and experience of the acting, by the three main actors. I have seen Martin Shaw for the second time as a stage actor, previously only seen him in tv drama, he is in my opinion one of our best british actors, he acted the part so well you could feel all the emotions involved. Jenny Seagrove was well matched and I think they make the perfect partnership, they seem to know what the other is thinking. Thanks to be given to Bill Kenwright for partnering all three actors.

Brilliantly acted. Fantastic sets, lighting etc. The play is obviously a good one but the actors brought each character alive and we were spell bound the whole performance. Great emotional performances.
