Skating was great fun and the Pavilion is an amazing venue to skate in front of - particularly when it's dark! The stewards are really helpful too, especially if you fall over as much as me!!
Food was even better!! Jamie's Fabulous Feasts are deffo doing a good job! Loved the porchetta with veggies and my wife absolutely loved the carrot, coriander and cumin soup with rustic bread. Kids loved the food too which was a major bonus!!! They ate the baps - one with the porchetta, one with the salt beef. Not expensive either which is great considering the quality of the food. The rinkside restaurant looks amazing too and is super festive.
All in all, a wicked day out! Definitely going again!!

Generally well organised with clean loos and bar area on site. Wheelchair friendly. Off peak tickets (10-4pm) not widely publicised at £10 adult and £7.50 child during the week. Good, safe area for juniors with limited 'penguins' for under 8's on first come first served basis. Good spectator area with limited seating so non skaters of a group don't feel excluded.
Strictly no bags, including wearing of backpacks, allowed on the rink, but you aren't told this until after you have queued to get on to the ice, resulting in queues at the luggage drop off (extra £1). This, together with inefficient bar/waiting staff (4 taking money and only one making the coffee and non-eaters blocking tables (food orders won't be taken until you have a table) and too many people on the rink for comfort results in 4 stars. Improvement in these areas would get a 5 from me.
Park in Kingswood St car park (L off southbound A23 at Uni student union £5.50 for 4hrs and then 3 min walk) and combine with child friendly Brighton Museum next door to Pavilion for day out without exhaustion or tears. We had a 10 and 8 year old with us. They gave it 10/10 for their first time ice skating.

we had the best day i watched my son ice skating at the pavillion in brighton it was magical we went the day before christmas eve 2010 and it snowed with the beautiful surroundings made it even more magical can't wait to go back this year on xmas eve x

We purchased tickets to the Ice rink event at Brighton Pavillion, the view of the Pavillion itself was something special. With a party of 8 joining in the fun we were all looking forward to the night. Upon arrival the setup was okay, we were quickly able to pick up our skates and immediately go skating. The only gripe that I had personally was the layout of the ice rink and the size of it, it was too small for the volume of people on the ice and the way it was built was like an 'L' shape - obviously meaning that you couldn't really skate around in a circle (which is most common). Other than that, the whole experience was good, satisfactory and a good laugh.

I insisted on my husband & 2 young children accompanying me to the Pavillion Ice rink as a birthday treat. I used to go as a child on the frozen lakes in Germany and the indoor rinks just don't live up to much. We all had a fabulous evening. The cold frosty weather was perfect, We went after dark and the Pavillion was lit up beautifully.. We all laughed so much even when we were falling over. it was the first time my children had ever been ice skating & although it took a while to keep them up right they had an absolute ball and can't wait to go again. All in all a very festive and magical evening.

We went on Sunday with 6 children between us and apart from the 3 year old (who was much happier in the creche provided) had a ball. The facilities are great and the food afterwards provided by Due South an added treat and the staff are lovely! The penguins are perfect for kids and adults who are feeling a little wobbly, great fun. Would definitely recommend it, the setting is beautiful with the pavillion as a back drop. Hope it is an annual Brighton event.

took 8 kids (aged 9-13) as part of a birthday treat - a cold winters evening skating on ice in front of the Pavilion just fantastic. Very well organised, including marshalls to pick you up and penguins ( yes penguins, ok plastic) for the more nervous kids and adults to push around. combined with the smell of vin chaud from the restaurant - just great.

Just returned from taking my 5 year old ice skating for the first time. Just a magical setting which really added to the experience, we both had a ball! The penguin skate aids are brilliant - although if you have little children I would advise making sure you arrive at least 20 minutes before your session time so you can be one of the first on the ice to make sure you get one. Can't wait to go again and am really hoping this will now be an annual event.

Our family went and absolutely loved it - we're being nagged to go again (we've booked a couple more spots as Christmas treats). It is so beautiful skating next to the Pavillion. Very special, and really well organised inside.
