wonderful music, really enjoyed it + enjoyed the support, well-known to her, the Golden Retrievers, but wasn't long enough! beautiful setting in St James' Church.

Rumer has a fantastic voice but the concert was less than an hour - which for £35 was really not on. We also had to wait a full hour between the warm up act and Rumer - once again this was really bad. I don't mind paying the money if you get value for money - this was not.

We were kept waiting outside the venue long after the published "doors open" time. Once seated, we were kept waiting again for the show to start, resulting in the audience whistling and stamping their feet in frustration. The main act Rumer was on stage for only 55 minutes. All in all we were there for three and three quarter hours for a main performance of less than an hour, totally unacceptable. Above all, the sound quality was appalling, far too loud for the venue and distorted to the point where the words of the songs could not be heard. A wasted evening for both myself and my partner - I want my money back!

What an evening. Rumer playing St James Chruch in London was superb (see the photo) - ok the sound mixing was a fraction off (but you try and mix live for a church!) Rumer's voice was stunning and filled the space with elegant ease. The only down side was the performance started later than I would have hoped and was shorter than I would have liked - another hour would have done nicely. What an evening!

The atmosphere in St James Church added beautifully to the lovely songs of Rumer. Everything was kept quite simple, so that really the songs have been the centre of attention. The audiance and the musicians seemed to have equally fun! I was especially impressed how awesome Rumer's voice is - live even better than on record; you can't say that for everyone!

Wow! What a fantastic venue...acoustics were brilliant.
Rumer's voice, just awesome.
My friend and i found fantastic seats,and were able to see her almost eye contact.
Waited for her to sign a CD i had just purchased....pure genius...Loved it.
Can't wait to see her again...Hopefully at St Jame's Church!!!

i love a gig in a church - union chapel first class views and sound - sadly not so in this lovely church - too many big pillars upstairs so audience spent whole time changing seats for the perfect view - not good. sound a tad dodgy too - v echoey -

however ..........Rumer was outstanding - truly the voice of an angel! so yes, i WOULD definitely recommend seeing her - i'm a big fan and heve seen her at big venues too, and outdoor festivals - my advice - just go and listen - it really is all about the voice.

Rumer has the voice of an angel.
Love her first album and play it every day.
The evening though was a little spoilt by four things...

1/ Its a church, so sitting on hard wooden pews for three hours makes back and bottom very sore.

2/ Its acoustics werent designed for todays music, so it got a bit echoey.

3/ The support act were average and went on for aaages.

4/ The concert was pre-album release so we hadnt heard many of the songs before.

She did most of songs from her new covers album,good band and back up singers,her voice is smooth like honey and she is so relaxed.Only problem, show too short.Only about 55 mins from start to end.
A very rare,Warm, summer evening in Piccadilly.

I was really looking forward to this event as it was my first time being able to see her live.
She has a beautiful voice and is just as good live as on the album.
It was a new album launch gig.... But the fact that she was only on stage for 50 minutes was a real let down. At other album launches I've been to (Chew Lips and others....) they've alternated one old one new to pad out the gig a bit and so the audience knew some of what they were hearing.
Rumer only did 3 of the old album towards the end... And for £35 a ticket, my mates and I left feeling very short changed, as it was over far too quickly.
Also she was talking a lot saying about how the songs had come about and who she'd worked with, but the acoustics of the church weren't great so even though the singing was lovely, the speaking was hard to hear and understand.
Next time I'll just get the album and skip the concert.

Rumer, well very good as I would expect having seen her once already. I now know that they are consistently brilliant and may well go again. Yes that good the music had clarity and heart.

Now The Golden Retrievers why were they not at the last gig? They were a discovery I was not prepared for! I bought a CD on the off chance of them being OK before they started, turned out to be a smart move as the line for their CD's after the performance was staggering. I thought they complimented the main act perfectly but I would love to see them release the Album they talked about. Something tells me they will not be a support act for long!

I was lucky enough to have a ticket for one of Rumer's Gigs (Cardiff). I had high expectations and was not let down!
One thing I was not prepared for was the support act The Golden Retrievers.... Wow, blown away by the band. At the interval I joined the long queue to purchase the CD, it only contains 4 songs so that meant I listened to the whole thing 12 times in the car on the way home. The quality of this band is of a level I have not seen for a while and the singer's voice is amazing. Would like to see much more of these guys.
Rumer, sorry for hijacking your rating here but had had to make people aware of The Golden Retrievers. Just for the record you and the band are amazing too. What a night!

A night full of laid back tunes to get really excited about...Rumer we all know and love - it's all about that voice - smooth, emotive, honey coated tones. A massive thumbs up for Rocket Man and a splendid Aretha.

So glad i got there early though, because support band, Golden Retrievers were a real find. Rumer mentioned during her set that they were her favourite band, they'll be everyone's soon. Classic song writing influences are present throughout, think CSN, Neil Young, David Gates, Jackson Browne, Don McLean with some laid back country thrown in for good measure. This is not some clever re-hash however (it would be clever enough though to come somewhere near the names just mentioned), the Retrievers have a Brit uniqueness about them also. There's some short light hearted banter between songs, but there's no need, the music, as they say, does all the talking...The harmony arrangement of the last song might have had even Brian Wilson himself scratching his head in amazement...They went down a storm, causing the relaxed audience to engage in round of communal hollering as they left the stage...The Retrievers have the golden touch

Terrific show and Rumer's version of Elton's Rocket Man made the hairs on my arms stand up - a brillant and unexpected rendition. Could have left out one or two of the more diverse songs by Carol King as no one knew them!

Rumer is well worth a watch and listen and will get better as her confidence in talking to the audience grows.

Would I go again? Yep, sure would.
