This is the third year we have seen this show & this will be our last, the whole show was like a Hi di Hi holiday camp production. The show is billed as the Voice of Roy Orbison, but in fact the Roy Orbison act, although good, was not given enough stage time to showcase what we had paid to listen to.
The Everley Brothers act could have been Cannon & Ball, & were on stage far to long & to be blunt they would have been booed off a decent workingmans club, they couldn't even remember the members of the bands name when trying to do their thank you's.
The bloke who did the Buddy Holly tribute loved himself that much if he was made of chocolate I think he would have ate his own fingers.
Sorry but this show was not worth the money & disappointing compered to previous years.

My wife and I saw this show at burnley in September last year and it was brilliant. This year we took friends with us after telling them how great the show was. From the very start the new female keyboard player made it plain she didn't have a clue what she was doing. The new drummer was too loud drownding the singing out. The first two acts where very good as they where last year but when Roy Orbison came on I could not believe my eyes and ears. This weird shaped man walked towards the mike and started singing. It wasn't until near the end of the song when we started to hear what he was singing. This man was terrible. A poor replacement for damien Edwards the one who did Roy Orbison last year. Whats
More is they had the cheek to be selling the same programs as we bought last year with Damien Edwards photo and wright up as if it was him that had appeared that night. Damien Edwards was the star of the show. Without him the show was rubbish. Who ever told this person he could sing like Roy Orbison should listen to his records again. I am disgusted with the Tyne theatre for letting the show go Head with so many stand ins that didn't

I'm not sure if it was the same 'Roy Orbison' as last year when I saw the show at the Tyne Theatre,Newcastle-upon-Tyne.Nevertheless,if you like your music to soar to the heights like the heart-felt ballads that Roy sang when he was alive,this is the show to catch.Interspersed was the diversity of the brilliant songs of Buddy Holly and the Everly Brothers sound/sing-a-likes; not forgetting the excellent backing band.If you like a show to hear the nostalgic songs of old and to get up and dance to 'Rave-on' and 'Wake up little Suzie' and then be immersed in 'In Dreams',this is not to be missed...Gone,but not forgotten.
