We traveled all the way from the Midlands to Blackpool's Festival of Hair and Beauty.
I can honestly say that I have never been to such a ramshackle, scruffy, disorganised event in my entire life.
The trade floor sold 99% tat, none of which was particularly cheap to buy (same stuff on ebay half the price). It was poorly sign posted so was difficult to find which competitions were taking place. The competitions were held in poorly lit rooms that did not do any justice to hairdressers hard work (especially those with vibrant colours). Everything was dirty, tatty, and falling apart. The building has the potential to be a real gem, but has been neglected beyond repair. The food available looked fresh but was very expensive. We were lucky it was a sunny day and so we left and had a pleasant lunch in a nearby bistro.
The entire event felt very amateurish. A complete waste of money.
