I was concerned about the size of the venue and the enormous crowd but the production was designed excatly for this. The exaggerated highly visual production techniques used a large screen at the rear of the stage and creative use of this screen for story telling - not just magnification of the cast - should ensure that everyone who sees this arena show could share the experience.
Tim Minchin was absolutely fantastic as Judas. Ben Forster was also an excellent Jesus. THe Herod song is a very light moment in the production and the use of Molyes and the situation created for his scene was fantastically entertaining.
Judas's hanging scene was very well enacted. Also Pilate singing while on a cool down from having been out jogging was a perfectly created emotional scene to show how dismissive he was to the Jesus 'problem' and how he wanted to avoid invovlement in any decison making.
Excellently performed show.
