Great. A really super show. I was initially a little unsure as we were bought the tickets for my daughter's 7th birthday and I thought she would be too young. How wrong I was! This is a engaging and enjoyable production with songs to help explain the story and move it on. There were still many key lines from the original play but both my children understood the story from start to finish. Although I thought it was enjoyed by my 7 and 8 year old children, there were also teenagers around us equally enthralled; not to mention adults too! A must for everyone.

What a fantastic production and cast!!! My brother and I (both teachers - primary special, and secondary English) took my 8 year old son to watch this, as we were keen to share our love of this classic Shakepearean play with him. I was slightly dubious beforehand, as my son can be easily bored and can lose interest quite quickly - especially after his bedtime (we went to the 7.30pm showing). But within minutes of the show starting, I knew that my worrying was unnecessary. From start to finish we were glued to the endearing qualities of the cast, laughing hysterically at the mass of humour, and completely engrossed in the story, which was delivered beautifully, and in 'child-friendly' language. There were bits of the original Shakespearean language in there, but only in parts, and delivered in a way were the children could still gain a feel for what was being said.
It was quite 'pantomime-y' in delivery, with lots of catchy songs, cheeky glances at the audience, and some audience participation. Also by the fact that everyone was glued to the show, and tickled by the humour, regardless of age. We all came away uplifted! And my son came away with a new found love for Shakespeare! Result I'd say!
With my teacher hat on, I would definately recommend this show for school trips. The children would be engrossed throughout! What a great addition to your Literacy lessons!

I will definately be keeping an eye open for more productions by Shakespeare 4 Kids! I can see this becoming a regular theatre outing for my family.

Midsummer night's dream is my favourite Shakespeare play. I wanted to introduce my 6 year old daughter to the Bard so bought tickets for us and Grandma (another big Shakespeare fan). We were all equally enthralled by S4K's production and laughed all evening, with Grandma stating that she enjoyed it better than the RSC we watched a few years ago! My daughter particularly loved Puck's performance and I was delighted that all the players sang and performed very well and all seemed to enjoy being there.
We will certainly book to see S4K's future productions. I am a trainee teacher and look forward to using their resources and organising school trips!

S4K's production of A Midsummer Nights Dream was a truly fabulous production. A wonderfully quirky adaptation which was packed with comedy and set to some excellent musical numbers. This is the second S4K production we have seen and both have been incredibly original whist remaining true to the original story and much of the original dialogue.
We quite literally wept with laughter for most of the evening. The clever way in which S4K has tweaked Shakespeare's characters to give them a modern twist and to make them even funnier was truly inspired. The cast were exceptionally talented and perfectly cast, from the delightful and mischievous Puck (Noel Andrew Harron) to the ridiculous Bottom.
Although S4K has a fabulous reputation for entertaining and educating children, it is a shame that more adults have not discovered these adaptations. This production entertained us as much as our kids (aged 8 to 13) and we would heartily recommend it to all ages. Well done S4K!

Truly phenomenal - a wonderfully accessible version of the bard's great comedy - the acting, dancing, singing, set and effects were utterly superb. I would love to see it again - particularly Puck and Bottom - the actors gave the characters life like i have not seen before!
