For a film lover and lover of all things mythological, this exhibition was the best thing ever. Until I went, I had no idea quite how many films that Ray Harryhausen did, let alone inspired future generations of film-makers to improve on the innovative work that he created. It was amazing to see the figures from films I love, especially in the detail of the creations such as the enamelling on the sword of one of skeletons from 'Jason and the Argonauts' and seeing how small Pegasus was.

It was incorporated with other exhibits which made the visit worthwhile. If you like technical stuff or life stories it was ok.
It was in the county hall building which had both lifts out of service and if like us you are mobility impaired that made it a bad start. We were taken on a route march all round and out of the building to another entrance which did have a working lift but we still had to climb steps here and there to get to it. All in all we were worn out before we got started.

Have always been a fan of Ray Harryhausen's fantastic creatures, from his dinosaurs in the original King Kong movie right through to Medusa and the Kraken in the original Clash of the Titans, so there was never any doubt that I would enjoy this exhibition. It was sad to see how much many of his works have deteriorated with time, however; sadder still that we were not allowed to take pictures and that there was no memorabilia to purchase, not even a book of photographs of these amazing creations. See them while you still can!

FANFEST in London was my first visit to a major European collectors and fan show. FAN FESTIVAL LTD did a stellar job in assembling the most diverse and dynamic range of Bond stars ever. The entire spectrum of Bond cinematic history was represented--where else could you see Eunice Gayson (DR. NO 1962) chatting with Jesper Christensen (QUANTUM OF SOLACE 2008). The London Film Museum was the ideal setting, with venues, signings, collectors tables, Q&A sessions all very well organized. The stars couldn’t have been more charming and gracious and the FanFest staff was helpful and courteous. When many of the stars inquired if I had come to London from the United States expressly to attend the show, I didn’t hesitate a second in proudly responding “Yes!” Far more than that the show provided an opportunity for attendees to meet fellow Bond enthusiasts, strike up interesting conversations and make new friendships. James Bond is an inherent part of British and world culture and FanFest was an appropriate and affectionate tribute. I hope FanFest will continue to provide this opportunity for many more generations of Bond fans.

The Fan Fest was one of the best event's I had been too, there was the largest collection of Bond Actors in one place.I met Jaws, George Lazenby, Britt Ekland, Maud Adams and many more. My kids had a great time in spy school.
The question and answer sessions were superb, Lewis Gilbert was fascinating. I was also there for the Sir Roger Moore questions and answer session in the debating chamber which was amazing and funny. The show was well run and venue excellent. I really enjoyed the weekend.

It is not easy to find. Where is it being held? I am at the National Film Theatre. Wrong. I am advised to try County Hall. Arriving at County Hall there is confusion. Is thisit? The doorman consults on his walkie talkie. “Go upstairs and follow the red carpet”. I arrive. It must be the old council chamber, a circular wooden clad auditorium with beautiful old red leather seats and marble columns.This is very impressive.
The “Chamber Ensemble of London” are warming up. Peter Fisher enters. The recital of Vivaldi’s Rights of Spring begins. Video screens around the walls show seasonal pictures to augment the seasonality of the music. They are beautiful but somehow superfluous. The music and artists alone paint the picture. The performance is exquisite.
This is a wonderful experience. It could be magical with the right size audience and illumination the musicians deserve.
