good event for those who had something to do and somewhere to sit between the short polo match. the polo was good, but would of liked to of seen more but couldnt face standing around all day without anythng else to see.

First time for me at the event and attended with my wonderful girlie friends, it was a truly super day, exciting sports, well organised venue, excellent eveing entertainment. Already planning next year!

Overall a very good event. My first time at Beach Polo. I play Polo-crosse myself and having seen Polo on turf pitches many times before, I was excitedly looking forward to seeing/feeling thundering galloping hooves and fast paced thrills and spills ! So the fact that the sand was deep and hard going for the horses, was the only disappointment! On hard flat sand they would've been flying, just like Polo on the turf ! So with this in mind, your average non-horsey person would maybe think it was all a bit slow and not so exciting !!! Saying that... I met so many horsey people from all sorts of disciplines it was a great day out for me! The live band in the evening was brilliant.... The Hoosiers... great live and had been wanting to see them for a while now! A really good mix of ages at the event and a decent dancefloor and sound system made it a brilliant all rounder ! The event itself on the Friday was not at full capacity, but then that has it's plus points ! I would guess 2/3rds at the most. The food was good, wc's good and the setting has to be one of the best on the South Coast ! So I will definintely be going next year, just a pity the pitch couldn't be sorted so that the "going is good" and in turn that would mean a much bigger pitch and people being able to marvel at these beautiful fit thoroughbreds switching gears from a standstill to a full gallop ! Nothing much beats seeing and feeling that as a spectator I believe, horsey or non-horsey, it's the one of the most thrilling thing about horses !!!!

I've watched polo on grass before but it doesn't compare to beach polo. Loved every minute of it, as its a much smaller pitch its so fast paced and the players interacted with the audience. Fantastic day out, even the volleyball was great.

volleyball was good. made in Chelsea friendly. Polo good,commentators very good.
Staff on entrance didn't seem to know what your ticket entitled you to. Bar staff were disinterested apart from a couple. For the price of tickets (£75 x 12 guests) not good value for money. Had to ask for everything you were entitled to .

Polo was good, Comentator brilliant !!!
Bar staff uselss, door staff miserable, no one knew what they were doing and very unhelpful .
Had to aask for everything you were entitled too.
Bar prices expensive.
Volleyball players great fun. Made in Chelsea cast friendly.
Overall not very good value for money.

This event has the potential to be great fun but is so badly run that an hour in I was considering going home!
Queued for 22 minutes to be served my first drink and then the wine was warm! There were not enough toilet facilities for the number of people attending which meant 20 - 30 minute waits for the ladies room.
After queuing for another round of drinks (20 minutes again) I was told they had run out of white wine (it was only 9.15pm!) All in all a very disappointing evening.
The bar staff were moaning constantly about how badly understaffed they were. When you are paying 35.00 just to be there for the evening and top prices for drinks you expect decent bar service (and toilets!) In my opinion someone is making an absolute mint out of this event but simply not ploughing enough back in to make it an enjoyable, value for money experience for the customer.
I have given the event 2 stars as the saving grace was the band and DJ, both of whom were great

I purchased tickets to the evening party for myself and some friends. The band were amazing and the music was fantastic, however this was all somewhat ruined by the half an hour wait at the bar every time we wanted a drink and having to battle the sand to get in as well as every time we went to the bathroom (again with a very long queue/wait for the ladies). This wouldn't have been an issue had I not previously been advised that we should dress to impress and that heels would be fine.
Not sure I would go again, unless the bar was improved, additional ladies toilets to accomodate those there and the flooring extended to the front entrance and toilets OR to be advised that heels are not a good choice by the organisers.

It was a wonderful day, Polo was great, sun was shining.
However, last year there were waitresses (who we tipped well) who brought us jugs of Pimms while we were watching, but I didn't see any this year. It was a real problem going to the bar with long waits and they wouldn't let us take bottles out to the arena, so the Champagne had to be bought by the plastic glass full, and then carefully transported. Not easy. We gave up in the end and went somewhere else for a drink and didn't bother with the party. One of the bar men said that someone had cut their foot on broken glass last year, so hence no bottles or glasses this year. Oh dear! I wonder what will be banned next year. High heels looks like a likely contender. Maybe we must wear shirts with sleeves to avoid sunburn or the polo players could just walk about as the Ponies might kick up some sand that goes in people's eyes. One of the Polo players fell off his pony, so maybe the Polo will be banned altogether next year as it is too dangerous.

The overall venue was much smaller than expected, the polo only lasted for approx 1 and half hours and the ticket price very much over priced when you can see the polo from the beach for free!
