The standard of squash was simply staggering. From our forehand sidewall seats we could see and feel the intensity on the faces of each player as they put everything into each rally, leaving nothing on court at the end of each match.
The venue is intimate. I've not experienced any other competition where you can get this close to the action. Close enough to see the expression on the players faces right at the moment of hitting the ball. You can tell, there is nothing except that ball.. no crowds, no cameras just that moment, that ball. Fantastic!
One comment I would offer is the venue did not have enough stalls outside. Many of my guests went to the venue hoping to buy equipment or clothing only to walk away empty handed (a missed opportunity maybe). But then.. the first match was about to start, time to find our seats and wait with anticipation as the MC called the first players on to court.
Now, where's the edge of my seat...
