This could and should have been so much more. Not a soul in our block could understand a word Virgo et al were saying, but it wasn't just the sound system that was dire, the entire staging was so desperately amateurish. As well as not being able to hear anything, it was fantastically difficult to see and there were no big screens. You learn at the beginning that the Legends tour was to be a vehicle for Alex Higgins to continue performing in an 'exhibition' type arena. This has now become a tribute, but a sorry one.
It was also sad that the 'Legends' were not prepared to sign autographs and instead pointed their fans (inc children) to a row of tables (that was effectively a jumble sale of snooker memorabilia) to buy one instead.
The venue was poor and offered no refreshments (far less a bar) with the exception of a vending machine.
When you combine all these aspects, it's easy to see why the number of empty seats doubled in the second half....many punters simply didn't return after the interval.
It's worth singling out that Michaela Tabb was very approachable, friendly and every bit as gorgeous as she appears on screen!
