How to review Fever Ray at Brixton Academy? Can't say I saw an awful lot as the stage was dimly lit and the dry ice quotient very high but good atmospheric stuff which suited the music perfectly.
Musically the performance was excellent, the mixing seemed a bit off to start with put they seemed to sort that out quickly and the sound was then really good, with bass that rattled your organs (a rare event in these health & safety concious times) - it wasn't overly loud, just deep. The quality of the performers was good too.
From what you could see it's clear that she is somewhat unhinged (on stage at least) and really throws herself into the performance.
Overall an excellent night out, and if, as rumoured, this is the last we see of her (in Fever Ray guise at least) it was well worth the trip (we came from the North West to see this, travelling there & back on the day)
