Seated venue so for the first half of the gig everyone remained polite - second half the place was jumping!

The set included most of the curent album interspersed with instrumental dance tunes. The tempo of the dance tunes steadily increased until the band and audience were leaping around as one. All the stalwart tunes were there too including Life of Man and New York Girls.

Already checked out where else they are playing this year.....looking forward to August.

A great evening. Full on from the beginning, The band look as if they are enjoying themselves, and create an atmoshphere that is great fun. I would recommend everyone to see Bellowhed at least once in their lifetime! Thank you

Absolutely brilliant gig. First time we have seen bellowhead-they were amazing!!!!
The venue, Sheffield city hall is really intimate, and friendly. We also saw sarah Millican here last year-can thoughly recommend the place.
The concert was so good my wife and I even had the cd on in the car going back home.

First time I have seen them and booked after listening to an interview and one record on radio 2 a few months ago. Very good live act they soon get the audience going. Second half was the best as they played livelier tunes and people started to get up and dance.

Opening act(s): I liked them, they played well and chose good tunes. They had a sense of humour. My husband thought them too loud. Once he realised that if he wanted Classic FM he was in the wrong place he enjoyed them more! @

They were amazing. The sheer physicality of Bellowhead's performance blew me away. My husband who covered his ears during the support act and generally goes to bed before 10 was standing up after the encore begging for more!

Even the harmony was muscular. You felt it like exercise or an Indian Head Massage. It was baroque, it was burlesque, it was lewd, it was demonic; a celebration of potency in all its manifestations, hunger followed by huge satisfaction. There was subtlety but never softness.

These were grim subjects playfully rendered. It was wild and then you sat down and listened as if your life depended on it - trying to make out the lyrics, trying to read the faces. Looking for clues about how 11, not very pretty human beings could meld into such an entertainment. Go, go on Bellowhead......the world needs more of you.

I have been looking to see Bellowhead in concert for a few years now and had high expectations because of performances on tv and various other reviews. I was not disappointed and the concert exceeded any pre-formed views on the concert I had. This was an amazing performance and I immediately booked to see them again in February. The atmosphere Bellowhead create is immense and I don't think I stopped smiling all the way through!

Excellent show - bellowhead exceeded expectations - had everyone rocking. Wow.
Mama Rosin as a supporting act were also fab - good choice from Bellowhead. Audience of varied ages.

I have wanted to see them live for some time now and was not dissapointed. Oozing with talent. The energy of Jon Boden , wish I had some. Inverness audiences are sometimes hard to stir into action but they managed and then some with two standing ovasions. Hope they come back soon.

From the deliciously weird opener (Black Beetle Pies) from the new album Broadside, stopping at some of their crowd-pleasing faves (New York Girls) Bellowhead delivered a corker of a gig. But then, the band always does.
I'd usually rate a Bellowhead gig five stars (this is the 7th or 8th time I've seen them play, and every gig has been excellent), the review loses the last star for being a sit down gig. Whose not so bright idea was that?! A sit down audience for a high energy band that plays jigs and reels? The audience was full of people tapping their feet and jiggling in their seats, people who clearly wanted to be up and dancing. I should know: I was one of them.

Both bands blew me away, surpassed my pretty high expectations.
First time I have seen Bellowhead and I went having listened to Hedonism several times - so, I didnt really understand the dynamics & history etc. And, wow, they were brilliant, absolutely superb: so much energy and enthusiasm; they clearly enjoy what they are doing and enjoy playing together - which is all very contagious. Having seen them perform live, I now listen to the albums in a totally different way and am getting so much more out of them.

Post gig, I did the "research" I should have done before - I will certainly be keeping much closer to the whole movement now... the local clubs, the history, the associated music - eg Fay Hield (sorry to all those to whom this is familiar ground)

First time I had even heard of Mama Rosin - and thank you to Bellowhead for bringing them on tour and exposing them to a significant UK audience. Three superb musicians who, like Bellowhead, clearly love working together. So, cajun punk may just be the next big thing!! Let's hope.

Loud, Fun, Great Music. folk music with pizzazz. A packed hall, crowd of all ages. They looked as if they were enjoying the gig, and we, the audience certainly were. what a good night. Can't wait to see them again.

Amazing show, loud and absolutely brilliant.

We read the reviews from other fans and were expecting great things - we weren't disappointed at all, everyone got it spot on. Sound quality at York was great ..
It was our kids first gig - they thought it was amazing and for nearly teenagers I am happy with that - we have taught them well !!!

These must be one of the best live bands around, don't go by what you hear on a cd or see on Jools Holland, you really need to see them live to appreciate the energy of their performance. Their gigs are always lively and I defy anyone not to want to bounce, dance or even sing! The set was a good balance of old and new, opening with the delicious Black Beetle Pies, and ending with Frogs Legs and Dragons Teeth. Shame we couldn't join them afterwards in the pub.
